Getting Fedex volume discounts

I think right now I get a crappy 5% discount on fedex ground. Im normally a 50$ a month customer towards them. Nov was through the roof and Dec fees are already 5x my normal amount. Crappy 9$ off my last invoice :rant:

I heard you can call fedex an negotiate rates. Does anyone any tips? does your volume have to be so much for them to consider?

Yes. The volume has to be I heard $250,000 annually per year.
