Default Recalled for re-inspection right before (DHL) delivery

Guys the stress is killing me, I have 5 boxes all LEGIT stuff about $1050 declared value. Shipment arrived on Thursday January 10th after clearing Customs, however they were recalled by customs right before delivery. I called DHL this morning and the first thing they asked me was if I was importing anything trademarked. I said NO of-course not!, they said that Customs had recalled my packages for an inspection and they were going to let me know within 30 days.
Any ideas??? See details below

I'm seeing more and more of these posts on this forums,

If the products are VeRO, it would be picked up by the custom's inspection, now if they find 'illegal trademarked products', they will be pull out and destroyed.

You should receive a final letter from Custom's regarding it's finding on the matter.

If you purchased legal goods per se from an EOM from china, then the inspection should be at ease.

Good luck, and keep an eye on tracking, by the look of it, is saying 'return to shipper' (return to sender),

Sadly - am in agreement - waiting a few days for update...if nothing, it is likely seized and destroyed. If you have proof of your items, keep them ready

Thanks, the goods are not VeRo, neither trademark or any logo branded, just generic items. I wonder if it is a duty issue, I guess I'll wait a couple of days before giving up...

Wait longer than a couple of days before abandoning them.

Although really upsetting for you as the imported, not a long time has elapsed (in terms of importation of items).

Good Luck

5 Boxes at a declared value of $1050??? How big were the boxes and what was the total weight? How much were you charged for shipping? What was the description of products listed on the shipping form???

shipping was $550, the rest is irrelevant, as I've already indicated that these were all legit items..

Whilst waiting, contact the seller.

Check if everything has been OK with him.

Dont come outright & tell him of this. Just some general questions about time & shipping arrivals etc.

On shipping alone, stay pro-active to get your goods.

This wait its killing me... how can they do this? I was not importing any trademarked items, logos, or anything illegal... (I know better) just generic plastic items that half the world is already selling online and brick and mortar dollar shops.. My business depends on this shipment, I had to reorder everything again which tight up the little capital I had for other purchases. Dammit.. ( I needed to vent ) Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

One of the reasons I never make large orders like that, I currently have 5 mailboxes and order 1 box to each one at a time, once it clears customs I make another order.

Also items that look similar in style to branded items can still be considered tradmark infringement.

If none of the following applies then they have no right to hold your goods beyond a reasonable amount of time:

1) Your item isn't a ⊗⊗⊗⊗, in violation of patents, copyrights, or other intellectual property protection.
2) Your item is not prohibited from being imported. It is not in violation of international or US import laws. Is not considered illegal to be possessed or sold within the US. Does not contain banned or unsafe materials.
3) Has been properly declared. The value of the items is correct and and what is stated to be in the package is actually in the package. The content has been properly reported to and certified by the proper governing bodies.
4) You goods are not subject to quotas that you are in violation of or certain countervailing duties that you need a bond in place or prepayment of to be able to collect such goods.

PM me with what you have imported and I will tell you definitively if they have any reason to hold your goods indefinitely or destroy them. I may even be able to identify what needs to be able to be done on your part to have the goods released immediately. As I import $500,000 a year in goods to be sold on ebay, chances are I import the same good and can base my advice on my experience with the same good.

Update: Received all 5 boxes perfectly, 2 of the boxes had green tape. Took US Customs 21 days to inspect my boxes...
