Uk customs busy??
 

Hi guys,

Still waiting delivery on a parcel that came into the UK on the 3rd Feb,
Says handed over to customs on the 3rd then says handed over to customs another 2 times on the 4th Feb??
Is anyone else in a similar situation or have any details on UK Customs being busy because of Chinese New Year etc??

Theres nothing valuable or Vero in the package its just not been delivered :doh:

I just spoke to HMRC cos I've got a parcel that's been with them for 5 days now and still awaiting clearance - the guy said ALL parcels coming in from China are subject to up to 2 weeks delay cos of extra checks due to high volume of dodgy gear coming from there.

up to 2 weeks delay on ALL stuff from China cos most of it's dodgy! Mine's been held 5 days now. Annoyed cos it's legit.

So it begs the question, why IF you are shipping foo foo would you bother shopping with EMS.

It is a guaranteed seizure!!

It sounds like your package has been sent by EMS which gets handled by ParcelForce in the UK.

It would be normal to expect a weeks delay for custom clearance when items have been sent this way. If you want your items in fast get them sent with DHL who customs clear while the package is in the air.

Fastest package i've received using them left china on Monday and was delivered to me in the UK by Thursday

^ Yes same as me. Can order by CC on Monday and receive Thursday AM!

yes im the same have had a fo fo packages waiting a week today!!! i have had this happen before around the olyimpcs and had to pay vat etc..........maybe this tim they keep the stuff

Highly likely you order by cc monday and delivered thursday. The minimum from date the order is made is 6-7 days from China. I know from past experience.

hey all can anyone update me???? on to what is happening???

im hoping do go on a mad selling spree so i can take off traveling, but this could spoil it good old customs,

so can anyone confimr that if i use DHL it will get through non stop it would seem to me that thje dhl boxes are bound to suffer the same fate if customs are checking everything????

Parcel Received! Happy Chappy! took over 2 weeks to get to me, good job it wasn't anything vero, lets hope DHL does the job now :P after using EMS for around 6 years!

mine is dvd from china!!!!!! what are the chances??

i tried dhl, and they DO get charged for import tax too??? but there are no delays took about a week!!!!!!!

Exactly the same here mate. Also on EMS website 'Attempted Delivery' was made at CV3 4PF........never a good look

Something moving with parcel?

I have always used EMS without any problems and I have just received my most recent parcel with it being in customs for just one day.

I have read a few posts on here and it seems though people say DHL are far better for the UK and I am thinking of trying them but it will cost me more and up to now I have had no problems with EMS.
