Please Contact DHL - USA Shipment
 

Hi,

It has been two seeks since USA customs has detained two of my parcels and I still haven't received any kind of letter notifying me whether they have decided to keep the two packages or not.

Can anyone with experience let me know roughly how long it takes for customs to make up their mind and notify me? I was told the matter would be sorted within 30 days.

Call up US Customs and ask them what's holding up your shipment. Either that or ask DHL if there is any additional information you could provide to speed up the process.

I contacted DHL's import team and they told me the package was taken by customs for inspection. This was over two weeks ago. I tried to call them again today and they did not have any further information for me. They advised I contact customs and my local customs office claims they do not have the package.

They gave me numbers for other customs offices in my area and I have tried them all and they all tell me they do not have it and I should get in contact with DHL again or other customs offices. This whole experience has been one big circle jerk and it is impossible to get any further information on these two packages.

What a pain

2 weeks since detention? Likely the shipment is dead - not much choice now but to contact your seller.

I imagine if this were the case then I would have received an official notice in the mail letting me know that they have kept it. I have had the package detained before by the FDA and I received a notice from them within days.

Either way, I don't think there is any use in contacting the seller. I was aware of the risks involved and I think it's best to just take it on the chin and chalk it up as a loss.

I have heard it isn't unusual for people to receive their detained packages a few weeks later which is why I would appreciate any input from someone who has experience with this

What DHL hub did the packages come into.

It entered through the Cincinnati port and was processed for clearance without any issues. It was detained once it arrived at the Boston hub for delivery.
