problem with Customs
 

I just want clarification on what I should do here.

I tried to receive a parcel from China for genuine Nike shoes. Customs opened the parcel.

They are now asking for a letter confirming they are a gift and the value is $30. Or is this just the beginning of a long battle.

What should I do in this situation?

Something genuine out of China - that will be a first.

Who are customs wanting the letter from? I assume only the supplier can give this.

If you are to supply evidence of what you paid for the shoes, then come clean and deny any knowledge of the low customs declaration or you will be in deep do-do. Pay duty on the full value and move on.

The more documentation Customs has on you, the more you may be flagged in their files - $30...I might suggest to just forego it unless you are 100% positive it is real...

Seems like you have multiple problems with customs seeing as the amount of threads you have open regarding them. I would stop using EMS / Parcelforce before you have anymore issues. Learn the game before you play it.

$30 Nike from China = you fail.

But in all seriousness, you should let them go and hope that its just a warning.
