DHL- Customs Clearance Hold-Need advice
 

Hello- i'm new to this forum and hoping for a bit of advice as i'm a bit nervous. It seems like members that post here are pretty knowledgeable about shipments from China and i think i already made one mistake. The shipment is coming to our business location and real business name and personal name are on the package (never considered any ramifications to this order-idiot)

Have never ordered anything from China before, but 2 guys in my line of work on the WEST coast of the US got the same item with no issues.

Ok so i ordered a very expensive single package from China. Not wholesaling a bunch of goods. The contents are an automotive repair diagnostic platform, for a big manufacturer which might be not entirely genuine? It is for personal/business use and its only one unit but is branded with car manufacturers name in multiple locations on a Laptop computer and cables.

The shipper put customs data of $300 and labeled the contents (to my knowlege) as "computer cables". Shipping is DHL

Here's the deal- on the DHL site, it says
"DHL needs further information from the importer. A DHL representative shall attempt to contact the importer or please contact DHL Customer Service for further assistance. Customer should contact DHL Customer Service if not reached by DHL"

So what should i do? Should i contact them? What do i say/not say? Any words of advise would be greatly appreciated.

I have a strong feeling that they know its not just cables the value also isn't correct and its branded. I would say goodbye to it

It sounds like the package was opened by customs and they found "non-genuine" items. If that is the case, you will not be receiving the package.

It would seem customs figured it was not cables, opened the time and found out they were correct.

Have to wait to hear from either DHL or Customs

Just a note that just because 2 guys in your line of work are successful with importing from China does not automatically mean that you will be. Only 2 days have passed though from the last update - give it another 2 days then act.

1 unit usually does not cause problems but in this instance MAYBE (not 100% lost yet) but it was identified as counterfeit...have to wait for update...

Any delay with DHL is bad, a lot depends on the experience of your suppliers shipper.

Is this a LARGE item? Maybe "cables" didnt fit the bill....

Yea, if they put computer cables. They open it up and see a recognizable brand here and it is not the cables on the customs form, you can kiss them goodbye.
