SO MUCH work to do tomorrow.. i hate these long holidays as tomorrow ill spend all day packaging and shipping.

Dmshark25 09-02-2013 11:14 PM

I Did most of my work today , I had a shipment of over 200 items on Saturday And just made it before 4pm before the Post office closed , today was just a nice 40 item order for Sunday and Monday

I had one buyer pay for an order today and it was 6pm my time only 3pm theirs and they messaged me saying I paid for my item I need it shipped today please upload the tracking number and ship ok???

Buyers are driving me crazy!!! I needed to. Explain that today was a holiday , Labor Day and offices like the post office are closed.

I didnt even to bother to say and the listing has a two day handling time and you placed the order at 5:15 pm , when most post offices close at 5 pm anyway

Buyers can never be expected to be understanding about holidays - sucks but true :mad2:

Lol, that is an understatement. I do sometimes forget about the Postal Holidays myself because I am use to doing work every day.

For US Sellers I normally package all my items during the day then drop off in the 24 hour postage center boxes at night. The Monday Holidays make life miserable because Friday and Saturday are beer night for me.

Having to make sure I wake up have everything packaged and out for sure on sat before 5pm here. Can be a hassle depending on the sales.

If you miss something paid on Friday that does not go out until Tuesday because of a Holiday I always get bitched at lower DSRs etc. Plus sending items out on Saturday is even worse because only a handful of Post Offices are open so I have to make a special drive.

I love selling on eBay and online, but it really is hard to take more than a 2-3 days off and not having customers send you messages bitching asking where their item is.

@vogeltron

I always try to ship daily because of these types of buyers.

Moaning ninnies.

Ohh I agree. I drop off packages every night. But if there is no shipping on Monday it is added pressure to get up early on Saturday to get through all my orders to make sure they get out on time.

Not sure about everyone else but I am still in my 20's I work all week. Like to go out on Fri/Sat etc. Sad part no matter if you sell 5 items, 50 or 500. If you are late shipping a few hours and it takes two days before everything goes out then it can cost you big time with DSR's etc. If I miss getting something out on Saturday it usually isn't the end of the world.

When it is a late purchase Friday I miss Saturday and it doesn't go out until Tuesday because of a Holiday it always comes back to bite me.

@vogeltron

None of my listings end on Fridays.

Got caught ages ago. Never again.

I have lots of fixed price that I sell. So I don't always control when the sales come. I think Fridays are usually more activity for me because it is pay day for many people.

That's a professional move - I do the same thing - figured it was logical to avoid Saturday hassles.
