Anyone experiencing delayed in shipping? Tracking numbers stop updating after government shut down or just only me?

The government shutdown is NOT affecting the USPS. The USPS is a quasi-government agency.

I would think not - mail coming from US and to US have not been affected for me

Well described. USPS has its problems. But mail within the US should not be affected. As far as I know US Customs/Border Security is not affected either for packages coming into the country.

Tracking numbers for 2 packages sent out last week to US were updating normally just now - verified

Yes, which is what a transfer within USA would be... domestic.

Or you sent the items with USPS from Canada internationally to USA?

I was thinking this because you have accounts in both countries.

Was not sure if you used USPS on an international basis....

Oh I see - talking about updates from USPS for Canada to US or US to Canada (for my accounts - selling and buying). I wasnt in US recently for domestic shipping.

US Customs will not be affected with packages going out and going into the US since its a law enforcement agency.

"U. S. Customs and Border Protection has advised the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America that all port of entry operations, cargo security and revenue collection will remain operational under the government shutdown, as they are deemed law enforcement that is necessary for the safety of life and protection of property."

I had talked to the one of our sorting facilities, they had told me during the government shutdown the customs ports were closed, so it will take longer for packages to get to their destinations, I have 4 international packages waiting in customs ports.

I would recheck your sources for this information. Customs is law enforcement, any and all law enforcement agencies where not shut down under the government shut down.

The only thing that was shut down was their websites since all internet maintenance personal are nonessential. You might have other problems with those 4 waiting packages that you have.
