Why did my DHL shipment go through customs twice?
 

So last week I ordered a small wholesale order of Lord of the Rings tungsten rings from a supplier on Aliexpress. (trying to cash in on The Hobbit hype) I am located in Canada. What concerns me a bit is that it seems to have gone from Cincinnati hub, cleared customs, then gone to Ontario Service hub, cleared there, and now seems to have gone back to Cincinatti (which seems as though its cleared). Here is the tracking info:

icemantbi, just wait patiently and see what happens - not good to ask for help on selling f*ke stuff. Update the site with what happens - could be a glitch or could be a seizure....time will tell

Just an update... Got my package toda. I was worried about nothing.. Turns out the Cincinatti entry was a miss-scan.


Very fast considering package was shipped last wensday.

I'm glad it worked out for you. Be aware, however, that most products sold on AliExpress and DHGate that are brand name items (especially HOT brand name items) are counterfeits, or unlicensed merchandise at best. That can cause you big problems down the road.

I'm NOT judging the OP and since I have no knowledge of the product, I am not judging IT either, I am just pointing out that selling this stuff can cause loss of accounts, lawsuits and in extreme cases, jail time.

How do you guys know if your box was opened by customs? If my box has tape that's a bit messy, does that mean it went thru customs? Or is it that the shipper was just that messy?

When customs in the US opens a package, they normally re-seal it with green tape that states it was inspected by customs. If they remove any items, they put in a "notice of removal" that states which items were confiscated, the reason why and a short explanation of how to file an appeal, should you want to do so.

If an entire shipment is seized, you receive a letter in the mail explaining everything within 30 days of the seizure.

If it is just that light brown colored tape, then it was probably your shipper.

Ok, I have that yellowish tape. I guess that is similar to light brown. Haha

It will have the Customs insignia on the tape too - careful moving forward

haha I bought one of those from ebay for mini's LOTR/hobbit obession - already lost it somewhere.....maybe someone will find the piece of c..p in 1000 years time...

anyway, do not think that product is a big deal....if just imported loose no packaging.

Can someone tell me why my item will go through clearance event twice after updated clearance processing complete in custom.

I have my package with dhl that was going thru customs in Cinncinati on the 22nd. It was coming from Hong Kong. On the 23rd it was saying that I had to contact Dhl and the status of the package was saying Exception (a red cross). Then on the 25th it says customs updated and the status went back to IN TRANSIT. And further detail: Shipment has been given a release by Customs. Since then I had no updates and we are already the 27th. Anyone knows what seem to be happening please ?
