Amazon, Endicia and ShipStation
 

I do not know that there will be any problem with ShipStation, however, Endicia supplies the actual postage services to ShipStation and I just received this email from them:

Endicia Now Offers a Direct Integration with Amazon
If you sell on Amazon we have exciting news for you! You can now use your Endicia account to process shipments for your Amazon store, without having to copy and paste.

This COULD potentially create some sort of a linking situation. I am not trying to scare anyone, but you might want to be careful until we find out exactly how this will work. Of course, if you do not sell on Amazon, or you do not use Endicia or ShipStation, this will not affect you.

I am calling them and will post a follow up when I receive a response.

any word on this? I was actually wondering if linking could occur through the tracking # possibly having some sort of endicia identifying account info integrated into it.

Sorry, I forgot to write my follow-up.

I called Endicia and they had no idea what I was talking about. I called ShipStation and they told me they have no part in this and it would not affect ShipStation users. The rep I spoke with told me he did not THINK that a link would be created, but he stressed that he could not guarantee anything since he does not work for Endicia and only knows of their new setup what everyone else knows.

I think it is safe to continue using ShipStation, but I would be hesitant to use the same Endicia account directly with Amazon unless we find out that it is safe to do so.
