DHL Clearance Customs?
 

So I had a package shipped from Hong Kong

It reached Cinncinati Hub on Saturday and said "Please contact DHL"

then it shows 2 hours later "Cleared customs"

It's been 2 days so I called DHL and they told me that customs has seized my package and I will be receiving a letter in 30 days.

What is usually in the letter? Specifics

The quantity was 50 iphone cases value at $60 in the invoice.

was it listed on the parcel with the word iphone ?

The invoice says Cellphone cases.

US Customs has seized the package because they believe it contains counterfeit goods. You will receive a letter from US Customs explaining what was taken, why it was taken and what your options are to get the goods back if you want to fight it.

Basically, you can consider these gone.

Maybe you should give up the package and donot buy the iphones case again,these iphones items are too vero.

If you are first time to happen this ,you should not get a big trouble.So you may consider ignore the letter,let them destory the package.But keep in your mind donot deal with phake items again,because these phake items only get you lost money.

Who gives a sh!t what the invoice says?

My bet is that your cases have a brand name slapped all over them like butter on toast.

According to my experience,writing:"packing material" is much safer than "cell phone cases" on the invoice.

Such poor advice. Everything is scanned and can clearly see they are phone cases and that attracts even more attention!

If you are trying to send one package to usa from china,and you will know the fact.

Everything is scanned but they probaly can not see too clearly what the stuff are inside the packages as long as the stuff are not drugs,or weapon etc.



If they can see the packages very clearly,how come there are still many packages can go through the custom?

Everyone know the phones from china are vero items,so the custom will pay more attention if they see the invoice writing"cell phone cases".Of cource ,if they decide to open your box,there is nothing to do with any writing on the invoice ,but they have no way to open all the box,because they are so busy.

But there are still one warmly warning for everyone:"donot deal with any foo foo items or any vero items".

iphone cases is the very thing that got me perma limited on my ebay and paypal due to vero. Avoid avoid avoid! Apple don't take prisoners son!

sorry but in that letter you will get a bill to pay customs its usally 10-20 USD i guess.

you should have had your supplier put 10K toothpicks ontop of the cases , DHL is awesome used to use EMS, multi packages get seized, switched to DHL i always got boxes, 7up side down

Anytime you important items via any carrier from China it is risky. Even if it is non branded items. Usually you get a letter saying items have been seized, that you have X amount of time to provide documentation or they will be destroyed.

I use to know people 5-8 years ago who got these all the time but didn't care. Customs is clearly keeping track now. Some sellers including former ones on this site have been raided by ICE had their items seized and went to court.

Importing questionable items is risky, they keep track now unlike many years ago. They will come after you if you are big enough especially because many major brands pump money into customs enforcement to protect their brands now.
