Shipping to Mexico - Buyer hasn't received package in 3 weeks
 

How is the postal system there? I had a buyer from Mexico purchase from me and now 3+ weeks later they're saying it hasn't arrived. When printing the label online, none of the shipping methods with tracking were available to Mexico. I'm wondering if that has to do with a poor postal system there or something?

Either way, I'm pretty annoyed it's been so long and the buyer hasn't received it. He lives in an apartment. Not sure how postal services deliver to apartments but maybe it was left with the front desk or something? I told him to check there and call the local post office.

I shipped with "Small Packet International Air" and even though it says there's no tracking offered, there was still a barcode to scan on the label. Perhaps Canada Post can track it internally?

4-6 weeks average for me. One of the countries I will no longer ship to(when ebay gives me the option)

@mcmx, no tracking used? Possible that the buyer is pulling a fast one on you?

Mexico is one of the countries with slow postal system, unfortunately. I prefer to avoid if I can.

...sadly it is like my country... slow postal system and a lot of scamming attitude from buyers...

Just for you to know, our postal system is getting better and better... on the scamming attitude side I guess we have to wait for at least 2 or 3 generations from now.

I have read several articles about Italian postal system. I agree that is getting better and better. It's not so bad compared to some other postal systems.

Both "Tracked Packet" and "XpressPost" when I tried to select them in Ship-In-A-Click, said "Invalid Product for the destination"


@rsot I don't really get a feeling the buyer is trying to scam me. I'm usually pretty good with detecting something suspicious. I even looked up the guy's username and full name and found some things. He seems to be pretty well off.

This is strange mcmx - I have sent items to Mexico before and have not had this problem.
