Just wondering whats average holding time people are experiencing for their parcels coming from e m s once they hit customs?

Anything over 7 days would be VERY BAD if the items are questionable. If they are legitimate, I wouldn't worry around this time of year. Also, some customs officers are stricter than others. NY is fairly easy. Chicago and Los Angeles are a beeyotch.

I once had plain brown, non-designer, non-branded, generic ladies' COIN PURSES held for 23 days in Chicago. They weren't even for resale. I had ordered them as giveaways for a local charity event as a part of the theme. The idea was that people would place a few bucks into them, or even spare change and then drop them in a basket at the end of the night. Thank God customs was doing their jobs and protecting us from counterfeit medicines and airplane parts! :pound:

I had mens tshirts being imported from NZ held over.

The reason was I was undermining the Australian garment industry.


It was fun to prove to Customs that the size I ordered was not available in OZ.

almost said somethen inappropriate ;) ..... just wondering really what anyone using them is experiencing lately as far as delays in customs... so far no one has chimed in with current experiences tho...:redface:

I have not had any delays yet. But I am not a big importer. I get maybe 1 package per week, either through EMS or DHL. I rarely have anything held, but I also don't import anything questionable.

Since you shared info, then I never use EMS. Never can be bothered.

That said, none of my items come out of China either.

A lot would depend on what is being ordered and how risky it can seem too...

That was the reason written on the report that got sent to the Clearance Agent.


We went straight to our Member of Parliament and cried foul.

Got the goodies released with a sorry letter.

Was convenient as I could import heaps more after that stupidity.

It's luck of the draw they can't stop everything
I hope mine gets thru soon I had 3 packages shipped out same day I got 2 of them and the other is either held up or still on the way
Out of all the ordering with ems. I had 1 thing returned or destroyed or they kept it for themselves
