it dont matter how good a supplier is- the packages are tracked and customs isnt stupid ..when i used to buy overseas everthing went through new york also .. they will eventually take something or tax you .

I did share- its all a numbers game just like Vero the more you sell ,the more visability you get - it is all random on smaller packages .. i was good to for 6 months at 4 diff addresses nothing changed than '''Bam''' , Suppliers have nothing to do with Customs selections of packages for examination...if you dont order alot prob be ok for awhile .

Yes, I used to just have stuff sent to close family members houses.

scenario - goods seized get letter, your address is flagged. Why would you want to burn
your relatives addresses, if it could cause them trouble. po box is better. However if using po box, can the authorities find out where the goods get forwarded or if its a pick up place, who the id for it is in?

The authorities can find out anything they want.

wow, UPS only took 2 days??!? Maybe I should tell my supplier to ship UPS instead of EMS which is 5 days

Yes they are a joke when trying to send something to china. They screwed us big time on a 24inx24inx24in box that had used samples in it. We actually said the value was $150 which was worth more than the items were.

UPS required a customs agent and wanted information from us then charged us like $800 to get it out of customs and to its destination cause the receiver did not have their own shipping/customs agent. Part of the $800 was cause they tried to say the items were worth way more than $150...so what are we going to do?

We sent smaller items over there and same thing via ups....they did not want fees but the receiver better have a shipping agent on hand or be one themselves....its twisted in my opinion and if any of the above does not make sense that is the vague crap I got trying to get a package over there.

We use EMS to send there and use EMS to ship back to us in the states. If 3-4 days is really a big deal for you just place your order faster. EMS is low key and we have shipped a lot through them without problems...just a little slow but not bad at all.

is ems a safe mode in terms of customs? or is ups better? also if parcel is from china is that a flag but says from hong kong doesnt? just something I heard....

is a return address for china a good idea? less flags?

China in of itself is not a red flag. China is the second or third biggest trading partner of the US. More than likely if you ever have good seized it is based on the supplier's information and not your address.

You are correct oh wise one. The VERO companies try diligently to find out who is selling non-authentic goods. When they find the suppliers, they try to go after them...

The majority of the time if your packages get seized, its either because your supplier doesn't know how to fill out the customs sheet to keep it "under the radar", or your package is huge and they are suspicious of it. A good supplier will ship large orders in separate boxes.

Also, many suppliers can tell you if your address is "bad" bka black listed. I have had suppliers tell me an address was bad, so I just shipped to a different address. You may even be able to just give a variation of your real address (kinda like with paypal) just so its not recognized by their system. Haven't tried that yet.

Bottom line is, have 3 good addresses to ship to and cycle them, don't ship to the same address consecutively. Ship to 1 address twice maybe, then another twice, then another, and back to the first, and so on. I really don't sell much, maybe 4 packages a month but to 2 addresses.

I primarily use EMS, but have had suppliers ship with DHL with no problems as well. The one package I had seized was through EMS, and the supplier made good on the deal. These were authentic goods, and I assume that's why they replaced the order.

I bring in ~20-25 packages a month, and use 3 different addresses.

aking makes a good point about smaller packages...

Not only are they easier to get through, they seem to process through customs faster for me. In addition; the lose isn't as great, if the products are split into several boxes, and get seized by customs.

About UPS: Heard from MANY suppliers that I deal with, that they are a higher risk than DHL & EMS.

In closing: if you are having problems getting products in, there's probably a reason why.

My Package was send by EMS......

Can someone give me a tip, if the package will be seized or not?

Why do you think its going to get seized? Its being handed over to customs. It should come out within a day or 2. Usually once it says released from customs, I get the package the next day.

same to me, but as you can see, the package is since 12/28/09 in custom, and now they scanned it again on 12/31/09, i dont know what this means.

If its stuck in customs in china, contact your supplier. They can pick it up and get it out, and or reship.

I too am having shipping issues with one of my packages. Mine didn't even make it to customs. I think it may have gotten lost. The supplier says he will resend them.
