PArcel Stuck With Customs
 

hello i have ordered a parcel from Germany which are branded and genuine goods and now it is with customs for inspection, how long does it usually take as i never had this issue and was known that importing within the European union shouldn't of not give a custom problem. how long can customs keep a parcel?

If everything checks out then usually it would be released within a few days if it has ben stopped anywhere

Which courier is this with?

I only ever experienced this once quite recently, it took roughly a week, there was absolutely no communication of what was going on or why there was such delay, but after a week item was delivered with seals all around it to say it was inspected and cleared by customs.

My goods were also branded, so don't worry, aside from the delay you shouldn't notice a thing.

never had a customs inspection from Europe, and I order alot of stuff....the tracking never showed a pause for it (when I look at tracking, which isnt often)

maybe they are looking for something in general, eg. had a tip-off...and they check more stuff...Germany would be the strictest if this were the case..

the company used DHL to send this and still after waiting a couple of days they still cant get anything from customs to why this is held up, very strange

i spoke with DHL again today and they said that they couldn't get any information or any reason why it is with customs i have to just wait until it is released, i imported many products from china and america and never had customs issue but first time importing form the European union and i have an issue with customs, i believe an exit from the EU would be a good decision after all.

There doesn't need to be a reason why customs hold it for review, it could simply be a random sample they've chosen and yours was one of them. It usually doesn't take too long, and unfortunately there is a lack of communication - but all of a sudden you will see DHL knocking at your door to your surprise, with your parcel in hand.

i hope so losing customers by the minute while i am waiting for this parcel even the shipper can not get any info out of DHL, its has been 5 days already how long more do you think i will have to wait?

You'll probably see it at your door on Monday. Like I said before, the whole customs thing, there seems to be a lack of communication. At least you have tracking. In my case it showed delivered - to a customs address, and I had to just sit tight till something arrived.

just spoke with DHL and customs have released the parcel and should arrive tomorrow, when you received your parcel was the products opened by customs or the products broken?

It was thoroughly checked, but sealed back in place. There were tags and a follow up letter to say it was checked by customs. Everything was fine, other than the slight delay.

i received the parcel there was no stickers around it or any unusual tape saying it was inspected by customs,there was no letter in the parcel and the products look like they have not been inspected at all.

Letter should follow a few days later, unless they haven't checked it at all.
