Default Delivery Address Question - Mail Boxes Etc ID?

Hello All

I may unfortunately be soon losing my stealth delivery work address due to an office building move. I have been looking at Mail Boxes Etc as an alternative for my deliveries, but have a question regards the ID procedure when signing up to a personal mailbox and the ID needed when collecting post and packages.

Say for example my real ID name (passport/drivers licence/utility bill), is – Robert Collins

And my stealth name which my packages will be addressed to is – Robbert Collens

I’ve changed the single ‘b’ into a double ‘bb’ in the first name and changed the ‘i’ to an ‘e’ in the surname. I’ve done something similar to my actual name and my packages always get through to me successfully at work as our postroom knows its me.

My worry is that places like Mail Boxes Etc may be very anal when it comes to exact spelling of names on packages compared to spelling on my ID.

Anyone else have any experience of this good or bad?

Many thanks
UZ

I mean, spelling mistakes happen all the time right? You have to think about the tens of thousands of packages they must go through daily. One glance at the label and it will clearly be noted as your package, I wouldn't worry about it mate, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if they just didn't notice or care enough to make a deal of it.

I have, and I should know -.- never seen Robert spelt that way.

The whole point of stealth is to make things blend in, be innocuous.

By making sonthing stand out and drawing attention, you are causing a potential problem.

There are lots of common variations of Robert, why make one stand out as the one in a million variation?

Hi Blobby

I know, Robert was a bad example to use. By actual first name uses a Scandinavian variant for stealth and my surname is one that has many variants to choose from.

AK81, I'm sure your probably right, just never know what kind of jobsworth you may have to deal with a the depot.

Very true, but if its just that literally the double R in a name I highly, highly doubt it would raise an issue. Then again, you might get some jobsworth.

mailbox sometimes allows a business name too. So you could have an ebay business account.

The package often goes to the box id anyway, within the address, so the name spelling is not that important.
