Which year did Amazon start requesting ID for new seller accounts?

I had my original non-stealth seller account created in Q3 2014. Im trying to troubleshoot if I submitted my ID to them.

It’s different I think for foreign accounts. I opened a new account last year, no Docs were required. A friend of mine opened abroad, and needed to provide docs before even opening the account.

If we could determine the years for Amazon.com and Amazon.ca this would be best. I am most interested in when Amazon.ca started requesting Amazon docs.

Would some veteran account creators be able to chime in when accounts started requiring docs for Amazon.ca?

One of a few times I was able to contact Amazon they wouldn't even address me by name. I had to address myself as my business so at least .com version seems to really stress business as business and not personal.

I'm sure internal audits and checks obviously are probably set up differently. Still new to it as of now. Another question is, once they start checking for ID's do they then request it for seasoned accounts? I'd doubt it, PayPal never has treated my older account like newer accounts. But, different platforms.

Do you know when Amazon.ca started to require Identification / bank statements when opening seller accounts? Do you know what year they started doing this?

Are you trying to find some aged stores that were never verified?

No, I am trying to find what year Amazon.ca started to require ID during account creation. Do you know what year they started requiring this?

IDK if my first Amazon seller account under my real name required my ID to open. It was created in Q3 2014. If I can determine when Amazon started to require ID for new seller accounts I can make a logical assumption if the account was created with my ID. If Amazon does not have my ID on file this would be beneficial to me.

I don't know exactly, but since my start in early 2017 i was requested to submit my ID, bank statement, and later in few hours the performance will send a message asking for the utility bill and invoices.

Thanks, hopefully some veterans who've been selling for a while such as Beautiful can chime im when ID's started to be asked

Sure, but as i've understand you're asking to know if you're able to create a new account without effecting your current one, you could check your old emails on the email account linked to your amazon to see if they have requested any id verification before, also check your case log as everything you've uploaded to them will be found there.

They have been requesting docs to verify for as long as I can remember

Not sure I understand the reasoning behind knowing when they did start requesting though

I had a non stealth seller account with my real name many years ago. If they required ID they would have a copy of my old passport.

If I open a new stealth account using my name and upload my passport they have the ability to scrutinize and compare the two.

The passports are different copies as ones older and the one I have now is newer with different passport #'s. The name, face, and DOB stays the same obviously.
