I used to sell as an individual, I now have a limited company. Can I set up an ebay account in my limited companies name and not be worries about the fact that I have had a banned account in the past or will I still get linked to my old account as I expect I'll have to put in my real name and details at some point even though it's set up under a limited company name? | Limited companies at one time were the perfect bypass of Ebays security. Unfortunately I do not believe that is still the case
It is no longer possible to own a company without your director details being publicly available. The money laundering laws and 'know your customer' put an end to that
Having said that your name should not be an issue on its own. Google your name and see how many come up
It's when you add DOB, address and everything else you use that the link is made
Now, I'm certainly NOT advocating you do this but, as an example, if when you formed your company you used just your first and last name and if, when you put your birth date in, say it is 12/9/80 and you made an error and put in 9/12/80 (a very easy mistake to make I think you will agree) it would be very difficult to connect you to the person who was banned - but as I said I would not advocate this as I am not sure of the legalities
It's a murky pool - tread lightly
