Default Setting up a new account as a limited company

I haven't sold on ebay in years now after getting banned, had a few stealth accounts at one point but nothing anymore.

I used to sell as an individual, I now have a limited company. Can I set up an ebay account in my limited companies name and not be worries about the fact that I have had a banned account in the past or will I still get linked to my old account as I expect I'll have to put in my real name and details at some point even though it's set up under a limited company name?

Limited companies at one time were the perfect bypass of Ebays security. Unfortunately I do not believe that is still the case

It is no longer possible to own a company without your director details being publicly available. The money laundering laws and 'know your customer' put an end to that

Having said that your name should not be an issue on its own. Google your name and see how many come up

It's when you add DOB, address and everything else you use that the link is made

Now, I'm certainly NOT advocating you do this but, as an example, if when you formed your company you used just your first and last name and if, when you put your birth date in, say it is 12/9/80 and you made an error and put in 9/12/80 (a very easy mistake to make I think you will agree) it would be very difficult to connect you to the person who was banned - but as I said I would not advocate this as I am not sure of the legalities

It's a murky pool - tread lightly

It's easy to form a limited company online and takes minutes. They don't ask for any proof of ID. Quite shocking really. I am not saying you should make things up as it may well cause you troube in the future. I wouldn't and have not done it when registering my companies.

I had to do some digging in companies house to 'track' a person as the police were totally useless. I found him easy enough and when I followed the trail of names and companies, you could clearly see he uses slight variations to his name to register the companies. I also found names of his associates. I gave all this to the police and they were still useless and am still waiting for them to take action.

I've just registered for managed payments on ebay with my Limited Company, it seems pretty clear to me they are checking both company and director details carefully.
