Default Setting up auto payments for ebay fees UK

Ebay and paypal account from 2014

There wasn't enough balance to pay ebay fees when ebay tried to pull the usual paypal direct debit 🤦

Now i have to re-add paypal as auto payment. But now it wants a card. Don't remember ever having a card linked to this account. Maybe had a an entropay back in the day

Can i buy a VISA gift card and add that?
I wont be paying the bills through the card, i just have to add one before it will let me set up the automatic payments.

I can't make new listings until the automatic payment is added. UK visa gift cards will work for this?

You can buy a gift card and add it. Make sure that the card is registered in the same name and address as the account.

Any balance on the card can be used for purchases or paying for shipping.

thanks for this

You say make sure its registered to same address
I thought gift cards just worked out of the box so to speak, no addresses or names tied to it?

Cheers

Where do you plan on getting your card from? I have used Vanilla Mastercard gift cards from WHSmith, Wilkos and ASDA in the past. You need to register them before you can use them. Very easy to register online and the codes from paypal show within minutes should you add to to it. Any purchases or fees can be funded using the card balance.

When I use this type of card, the details I use to register it match 100% with the ebay/paypal account. That is name, address, phone number, email and DOB. Better to be safe.
