How to save shipping cost from china?

Im getting some stock coming in soon and its just under 100kg.
Im being quoted around $500 for express delivery. Plus ill have to pay custom fees.
Can anyone help me a better way to save delivery fees on this?

$5 a kilo? And you're complaining? I was recently quoted 370 for 25 kilos

I have been exclusively surface shipping since February. I can get a container loaded and shipped for $300 to USA Then freight from port or UPS/Fedex from distribution center.

What's the estimated delivery time from the moment the shipment starts moving?

10 days across the pond. Then....port, transit etc... 10-50 days. Riots and Covid(mostly governors mandates) have crippled the supply chain.

I have one now... 23 days total so it is getting better.

Register for a VAT number and you can claim the 20% you pay for the import

if you have contact with local Chinese say in Chinatown(Toronto,Vancouver),they travel back and forth from Canada to China or know someone who is coming from China,ask them to bring them along,of course there is a limit of how much they can bring .
