 IP done .. now PP & EB accounts
Hey there guys . A few days ago i made up my mind to join this forum and have read 1000s of threads from years back . You guys are great which is why , yes i need a couple of ? answered , but i want to tell my story and hopefully contribute some in future weeks.
I considered myself the model ebayer. Refunds without question along with apology , though this only happened 3 times in 18 months. I would give regular buyers freebies on a regular basis . Had feedback of 99.6 [2300] .. around a dozen regular buyers who are still emailing me now. The only 1 neg feedback was a mad Frenchman who had left 18 negs in the previous 3 months before hitting me. So with around 4000 transactions i must have been doing something right , apart from the fact that i was dealing bootlegs of course. Anyway , first there was the 7 days suspensions a few months back , 2 i think , both after the neg feedback , then the 30 day. Think i actually gave it 6 weeks and listed again. Looked like being the best auction so far , then i went to check on my listings and got [not a registered user] Guess i should have expected it really , had i read all i have in the last week. But , dunno , think i was in a state of shock , and new nothing about what happens now?? . Virtually started using my wifes account within 2 weeks instead of reading up and getting wise. Sure as s++t my wifes account was suspended 2 weeks ago and now i am in the serious Doghouse. The wife use to buy and sell stuff also , but completely legal and above board , and did very well . Now she is furious and basically i have to sort things regarding eBay or die a horrible death.
Firstly was the IP address
Tried a couple of things . Firstly driving around the the block and booting up and surfing on someone elses . This worked until i got home and the battery ran out. Booted up again and IP reverted back to original. Went round my Fathers .rigged up ,and gained a new IP that way .. after 3 days , again it reverted back to original . By this time i had began to research and thought that i may have a fixed IP. Decided to sort IP via RUN/CMD on my dell laptop rather than my Mac. This destroyed my connection on Mac and Dell altogether along with my outside phone line. Had no broadband or outgoing calls for 5 days . Obviously this took everyone to the limit and just waking up in the morning was hell.
So to service provider
Orange insisted that because we could except incoming calls , the fault was not with the line , and they did not know what was wrong. To get someone round was 85 quid if the connection was proved ok. Some guy came round , as jumpy as they come , went into the secondary room , started unplugging leads and plugging back in and incredibly connection was there. This guy was from BT despite Orange being ISP and his behaviour was very suspicious . And basically he did not do anything that had not been tried 20 times before without sucsess .. he even left with all filters / leads etc exactly how he found them. I have never been conned in such an obvious way before in my life , though i have yet to get a bill , but have no doubt that i will . Anyone else who has Orange as service provider beware.
Fixing IP issue
Orange had sent me a Livebox a week or so previous . Rigged it up and it seems to have solved all IP probs. I have different IP everytime i make a connection . .so ebay friendly . This is apparently called a dynamic IP
First question i would like to table , is there a VCC or giftcard that you can either pay ebay seller fees or use to set up a 2nd Paypal account apart from the one used by suspended account [and my website ] or accounts NOW ie 1st October 2009
Second is , when filling in both ebay and paypal , which information HAS to be accurate and which does not ?
I have a debit card not reg with ebay or paypal , but has my name .. if i can change letters or numbers around , which ones ? and on which PP or EB accounts
Think i am familiar with alot of stuff just need pointing in right dir=ection
