Found 22 Year Old Aged Account! Help me protect it!

Just found out I had an old eBay account that was created in 1999. Through vigorous work trying to get access, I finally did! I want to protect this account as I have been banned from eBay a few years ago on a 18 year old account. With MP, what are the steps I should take to protect this account I get it up and running?

ebay don't care whether 1999 or 2021 , you need to register it to your own name and get it verified. There is no discount whatsoever for people selling for many years and any account can be suspended

The account is in my name already. I do have an EIN, would it be best to convert it do a business account? Should I change the account information to spouses name? Not sure what the safest route is.

It does not matter if you were not suspended on MP. whether business or personal what matters is whether all details are genuine.

eBay prefers accounts that are active and running perfectly over aged accounts now.

As far as eBay is concerned and as many have stated on this thread if the account hadn’t been used for years in eBay’s eyes this is like a new account aged don’t mean nothing at least to eBay.

There is one feedback on the account, not sure if it's selling or buying.. If I register the account under MP using factual information will it get flagged since my other account got banned with factual information?

You can go into the feedback page and click feedback as buyer or seller and check.

@OP, if no prior sales and no activity, it doesn't matter if it's 22 years old in creation..in the eyes of eb, it's a "new" selling account...just fyi

I tend to disagree with the posts in here because many new accounts get suspended on the first listing. Having your account older than dirt can make your ebay experience advantageous.

I agree with everyone and you.

Basically, we'll never know until OP starts selling.

Just to be clear though for everyone, it's not a suspension rather they just wanna verify what you're trying to do on eBay.

(which to date I still think it's a waste of resources and time if I were an eBay exec)

can you change the name on an old stealth account (stealth details) to match your real name? wouldn't that trigger a review by ebay? I have some accounts I haven't used in a few years that I was considering doing this to

Changing the registration details is kind of a huge security flag - trigger review and also ID check could be requested
