Login to bank rather than microdeposits

Might be a stupid question but I’ve never tried this so idk much about it .
I’ve always assumed due to having mismatched names we can’t use the instant verify bank login method and have to use the manual microdeposits way .

Is This true or can we use the login to bank method to link a bank to eBay ?

following for other comments - i used a USA verify bank login method on a mismatched name a few years back and it worked ok - i wonder if it still works.

I’ll have a go using this when a create a new account and see how it goes .

this works , the only problem is that you can not be 100% sure which info is shared by your bank about you to adyen. wbay would not care but with adyen I don't know , they have their own system of acceptance and rejection and whatever they decide is mandatory for ebay to fulfill

Last time I tried it it was almost immediately rejected. The only difference between the ebay account and the bank account was the christian name, everything else matched up.

That said, I went through the micro-deposit route and it all went through okay which sounds somewhat counter-logical to me given the flag was already raised.


I won't be doing it again but do accept that there is the possibility it would go through with some banks just fine, we just don't know which it will and which it won't.

Tried with Lloyds savings account, everything went through then when it went back to eBay it said “ can not find checking account “

bank login requires current accounts , any other type is not supported by provider
