Payment holds

Hi

I wonder if anyone had the same, I was selling on two private accounts which had fairly poor limits, so I listed up to the limits with the expectation of getting decent limits at the end of October. Unfortunately the limits barely increased, so I then decided to convert both accounts into business accounts, and was given very tidy selling limits.

Great I thought: Until I sold stuff on both accounts and saw that the payments were on hold and would not be released until Ebay can confirm delivery.

Has anyone else had this when they upgraded to a business account?

Out of interest what limits increases did you get from what starting point? And did you automatically get the increase when you switched to business?

Business accounts tend to get higher limits, that's correct.

Since it is a new account,it will have limits

Originally the limits were pretty low, about 50-70 items as I recall. They then went up to a few thousand. In hindsight I would have been better off if I didn't upgrade. Yes it was automatic.

Aren't the higher limits worth the temporary wait time

They are just being cautious after a few sales and good customer service the holds will be gone.

Let's see, I have ditched the accounts for now and will sell on other ones.

I'd say so yes.

I like to balance things out so 1 account doesn't sell too high even if the limits are high

So when it was private - had you sold items without the holds?

On new and even aged accounts will have holds. Both on personal and businesses accounts. It’s usually delivery plus 2 working days
