Ebay ditched Paypal and goes with AYDEN,a Dutch company.
You can open an Ebay account without opening a managed payment account with Ayden, but you wont be able to buy anything, unless it is local pickup or wiretransfer.
There are some precious metal dealers on Ebay selling 6 figures gold buillion and they only take wiretransfer .
And if you sell, you would have to open a MP account linked to your bank account so it can collect the payment from your seller and deposit into your bank account.
Not much different from Paypal.
As to using different info for EBAY and MP,MP does not check your Ebay account, thats my understanding, some one may shed more light
I like Paypal better as you can keep sales proceeds in your Paypal account and even move money from your bank account to your Paypal.
It allows you to hold multiple currencies and using its debit card as a credit card, you get 1% cash rebate.
opening a MP in stealth?
what kind of bank account are you going to use?
Also why are you having problem transferrin fund from one paypal account to another?
Friend and family transfer has no fee,but Paypal keeps an eye on it
I doubt Ebay cannot see your MP account,I suspect EBAY has an account with AYden AND we are just sub accounts within Ebay account.
Think, how many people would Ayden need to hire to deal with every Ebay seller, some barely do $100 in a month?
Just like PAYPAL,all the banks and credit card issuers deal with Paypal, not us.
A chargeback hit Paypal, then Paypal will notify us because Paypal has the merchant account to accept credit cards, same with banks,Paypal has accounts with them.
Why not just go stealth with the ebay account and managed payments aswell.
-------------
You are in US,whose SSN would you be using in your stealth account?
I think it is a matter of time Ebay /Ayden wants you Ebay account agrees with your bank account.
Etsy also uses Ayden,it wants your bank account name to agree with the name you used to open your Etsy account, your shop name can be different,it has run into problems when they are different,eg if your Ebay/Etsy account has been hijacked and the hijacker replaces your bank account with his bank account?
It has happened with AMZN third party marketplace,an ex employee replaced his ex employer bank account with another bank account and siphoned off $80K
AMZN can see which bank account was used to transfer the $80K,but refused to share the bank with the third party seller.
Of course AMZN can reach out to the bank and file a fraud case, but if the scammer knows what he is doing,he would have withdrawn that $80k before his ex employer found out and close his bank account.
After this incident,AMZN comes up with this policy-
before you replace existing bank account with a new bank account, you must enter the existing bank account number ,not just the last 4 digits
According to you, where you say ebay is looking for the names to match, will my account be compromised in the future?
--------
I am saying some day Ebay will care that the EBAY name and Bank name should match,it looks like right now,it is not checking to see if they match.based on what some of you said on this forum.
I am trying to think, when Ebay used Paypal before Ayden,PAYPAL did a lot of police work, does Paypal check to see if your PAYPAL name matches with bank name?
Initially I THINK it did,as we will have Johnnie Doe as Paypal name and try to link a bank name as JOHN DOE and it was rejected,so PAYPAL could have given up on verifying names?
From what I understand, when you enter your bank, you give ayden power of attorney over your bank account, debit and credit as they please.
--------
Who said that?
When I have my own merchant account,I know the bank which processes my credit card transactions can deposit sales proceed into my account AS WELL AS debiting my account in case of chargeback,in fact,it wont wait for the chargeback results to say I lost,it will go ahead and hold on to some of my money as soon as a customer initiate a charge back.
So does it mean it has the power of attorney,I dont think so.
any one else care to comment?
Sammysquare is the one who thinks Ayden has the power of attorney over our bank account.
I guess I dont understand the power of attorney, what power does he have over anyone ;s bank account?
