You could try ringcentral... they have area codes for quite a few cities.

For the long term it is worth investing in a paid for number - some free trials will just give recycled numbers that may lead to linking and you should be contactable for the life of your account.

Can also ring BT (if you have a BT landline) and get the number changed for free

When you purchase a number with area code they only cost £2.

Well worth it.

Forget ringing BT and changing the number they will charge you about £80 minimum, unless you know a cheaper way.

Virtual numbers are much cheaper

I just started with ring central and I'm paying to have the number forwarded to my cellphone. It's in another area code. I'm hoping it will pass the landline test.

Yes, good luck with that. Make sure you post whether it works or not.

They may charge at their discretion....

But I have changed my land line number twice (not for Ebay) at no cost.

I told them I was getting loads of wrong numbers and that worked for me (but that was the truth). Also depends on how long you have had the line.

It is free, however that does not resolve the problem for multiple accounts.
Anyone have any ideas for multiple phone numbers?

You need a separate number for each separate account.

Well you really are stating the obvious there! I think we know we need completely different information for each account we open, hence why I asked if anyone knows of any numbers that will work for multiple accounts!

Hi,

I have small question I was using my ebay and paypal from last 1 year now I have been limited with paypal. I want to start with my wife's bank account now I have call virgin media and they changed my phone number, for safty I format my hard disk and installed new windows 7. created a account with my wife's name, so there is no problem for cookies for ebay or paypal to find me. I have ADSL modem and every time I reset it I get new if for eg: 80.4.231.65 then if I reset it I get new IP 80.4.245.34 etc so IP change also ok and have no problem for me.

Now the only concern is I am going to use same address which was like 15 norman house but now I am going to say it Flat 15 insted of 15 Norman house as the block is flat on street address 158 norman road, so the post man will know it without any trouble.

So you guys know if ebay track me with address ? even if I use 15 norman house ? I think ebay only trackin with bank account , ip address, and Flash Cookies to know us?

any idea ????

thanks

have you checked LSO are being deleted, or better still use another windows user to previously..

if you think a letter can get there, use the variation, it can work....can they track you, it will fool their system, but if a human looks at the address, they may be able to link it up, depends on what kind of account it is, what it sells, earns and if you are a prolific offender against their rules. Keep under the radar, if it is a safe , slow account, no problems with that address IMO....

I saw one of the VOIP cos recommended in the Stealth Book offered every different area code, and being in quite a rural area, I do want a area code that matches my area...
prob is that the 1 co Im sure can provide me a number charges £10 setup and then £3 a month...
I was wondering if someone could recommend a company where you can pick a UK area code thats a bit cheaper than that...
tks in advance.
