Amazon n etsy now requiring selfie verification by persona

Both platforms are requiring this on signup. Now I believe there's way around it.

When you sign up it's asking for selfie verification via biometric or manual. Both state they'll keep records for 3 month manual and 1 year biometric.

So the days of using f4ke ids is almost upon us. Only option is to use your face. My question is will they link accounts from your face. Now it says, your verification is encrypted and stored and not shared.

On a positive note, I did a test on an account, came back the selfie wasnt accepted because I use a poor webcam (on purpose) and it says to Now do a video call with an amazon rep.. which should be fine and may bypass persona.

So again anyone have insight Into persona being able to link account via facial recognition

Show id, then show selfie with you holding id.

I've always done the video verification with an Amazon rep, because the persona thing always glitches for some reason.

Hmm as long as its just upload a pic, should be easy to spoof

Uploading pics are easy, true - that live selfie thing is annoying

I was just made aware of this yesterday when I had to get some new amazon accounts...

Yes.. I managed to it it done, upgraded webcam.. receive message in 12 hr stating is was successfully verified. But amazon still need to do their own additional verification.. said they'll get back to within 72 hrs. Still nothing. Think 72hrs is up or maybe in a couple more hrs.

Anyway it also worked for etsy just fine.. they don't care as much.. was opened within 2 hrs.

ETSY is much smaller than AMZN.
They always say like 48 hours or 7 days or 3 days,but there is no guarantee,depends on how busy they are.

Done both.. everything good to go. Took 4 days in total for amazon..

I had a poor quality laptop webcam and had to do a verification using smart phone.

My question is...is this phone now linked to that particular account? Using it for future verification would link accounts?

I'd consider it linked if you have logged into the account on the smartphone -

YES, it's linked.

Good question.

What you can do is have a dedicated phone that has a bad camera too.
Then you can just reformat the phone to factory setting deleting everything after done.

Same process with laptops to use on amazon

Probably a good idea to change the mac address too. It will be the same after a reset

Goes without saying to change the IP
unless he's using IPBurger residential then he just needs to change that setting

They probably wont, but they match your face to the pic on your ID, and they probably can link the same ID

So far I haven't seen that happening nor have I heard of this issue from my other sources either.
