Has anyone recently encountered something like this? I've got an E-Mail yesterday, telling me that from March 31, 2025 Etsy is doing some change on their Weapons policy and that the algorithm found some listing may be interfering with the new changes. Funniest part is that I neither had or have anything listed that even include ''weapon'' or ''gun'' in a listing/description/title.
The mail says Firearms, imitations of firearms (that resemble actual firearms), digital listings that are about 3D printing of firearms or guns.
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!
what do you mean some listings are interfering with the new policy?
Do you have listings and titles which contains words like pistol, gun, bomb, grenade, armored tank, fighter>
Nope. As mentioned above, I even went thru every listing to search for keywords in title/description or even added tags - nothing that is related to guns or firearms. No "weapon" or "weapons" mentioned even typed anywhere, no words that are even synonyms to "gun". It's really strange and I have no clue what the algorithm could found.
If someone else received such E-Mail from then and noticing similarities, please chime in.
Could be a bug in the email sendout...generic mishap in the coding/AI bot email...?
I hope thats actually the case. Worst case scenario, will wait till the end of this month and see if a listing get removed because of that, I simply cannot find anything regarding that policy which the E-Mail was quoting

Not a bad idea to wait out a few weeks to let it cool...hopefully others will post in with similar experience
Yeah, that will be the case for now. Will wait the end of the month and see what will happens. And if indeed someone else experienced similar things in the past (even if its not with this exact policy change) feel free to chime in.
