That’s a good amount but it’s worthless if you do not look after the account.

This is probably the most covered topic in this forum. Limits mean nothing on a brand new account. 1) if you have lots of inventory and plan to sell a fraction of it, then thats a positive because it allows you to list your products. However if you think you can maximize those limits in terms of sales then you will only lead yourself to a suspension...

Exactly. Don’t sell lots of items to start with.
Just one for £39k. (I am joking.)
High limits or low limits you need to look after the account and build it up.
Also if possible try and make a back up account or two.

Correct - brand new account...if not slow building then gets hit with ID request and suspension...game over

Depends on what the item is

It's both value and brand that effect the risk factor

there is no such thing as selling limit of 40K on a new account , the actual selling limit is only a few hundred pounds

if you want to list large inventory on a new account you need to go to amazon as they allow this. on ebay if you want to sell a lot without getting taken down for this it would take at least 1 year of active selling , active means many transactions for cheaper items

There definitely is a £40k listing limit on a new account.

The actual limit is £40k. Should you list that much right away? Seen it done enough times to know its possible within a fee months but not right away

You can certainly list more than a few hundred £ though although it is very items dependant

On my account for example I have roughly 100k USD listed, but sell about 10% of this. I know I'm never going to sell all the product I list so its a ratio game. Maybe I'm just in a good category, I don't know but I've never had issues with amount listed after you give the account a few months of selling. Obviously if I sold everything I would get MC011 probably 30% into that. So in my case a high limit is very beneficial even on a new account.

Getting 100k+ limits back in 2015 was holy grail accounts. It took like 6 months to get this, then you have another 6 months to work with that number.
