Emailed all my old eBay customers the past couple of days. Overwhelmed!
Being booted from eBay blows.
The business we have been running on there faultlessly over the past 11 years came to an immediate end 2 weeks ago, no warning - now here I am (Askpin!).
I have been extremely grateful to receive the help and advice of this forum since then. Among the tips and steps to get back on my feet, here I have learned of the many (many) others that are also in my shoes, or have been in my shoes. I have been taken back at the volume of sellers this really is on here, and the volume of sales eBay is potentially neglecting, in us.
Anyway I realised a couple of days ago that I have the email addresses of hundreds (actually thousands) of past very happy iPhone customers of ours, from the past 11 years.
I sent them in stages a blanket email (never done this before - fearing repercussions by eBay of off site sales!) saying we are edging away from the platform, setting up our own site and here is our current stock in the meantime.
We have now sold out everything in those 48 hours. All paid direct (bacs'd or to our existing still standing PP account).
We were overwhelmed with the response from our old customers, some from years ago saying how grateful they were we got in touch, lost our details etc. Some said they had since tried elsewhere buying a phone on eBay, and been burned badly from that experience etc etc.
Anyway it just served as a reminder that we are actually one of the good guys believe it or not lol - despite being treated by eBay to be scum frankly in this last 2 weeks.
We just want to get back on to a platform where we can get selling again. And with a lot of effort and this forum I think its possible.
Cheers again, glad this place exists!
P.S. anyone who has just been booted from eBay too, I would highly advise doing what I have just done. Great stock clearer for a fresh start.
