Default Best Account Type for High-Volume eBay Selling: Individual vs Business?

What's the best way to scale eBay sales — through an individual account or a business account?

I like that individual accounts don't get hit with the final value fees, but I assume if you start pushing higher volume, it could raise flags or trigger account reviews.

Has anyone here scaled up with an individual account long-term, or is it better to switch to business early on?

On eBay UK, individual accounts don’t get charged final value fees.

But if you're selling a lot under an individual account, could that raise flags or lead to a suspension?

I know legally, once you're trading past a certain threshold, you’re supposed to register as a business — so I’m wondering if eBay monitors that and enforces it?

I would think once you reach say 300-.400 listings,a message will pop up and ask you to switch over, there is no punishment,as you wont be adding any more listing

agent, mind putting a warning message before you link the web platforms like eb, az, pp, etc? Just in case, members are signed into their accounts.

Yes long term you'll want to be a business account if you operate the account as a business.

I can't speak on UK, or at large scale of testing, but my personal opinion is having a personal account, grow that sometime, with a few sales the first 90 days. Then at whenever you decide upgrade to business.

For USA, what happens these days if you upgrade to business? Documentation request or anything specific? I have not taken this step on my personal usa accounts so just wondering...

I am not aware there is a difference between business and personal on Ebay.com,since both accounts have to pay FVF.
But if you have a shop, you pay monthly fee but a lower FVF.
Question-if there is no FVF for UK sellers, what about listing and relisting fee?

If I am selling around 10k a month, should I upgrade the ebay account to business or can I get away with staying Individual? Personally, I would love to stay individual because it's cheaper. But assuming i could get flagged if the account is Individual and not business?
