Default ID request after sale surge—help please

Hi, I’ve been lurking here for a while and have always appreciated how generously people share their knowledge.

My 9-month-old stealth account — created by following the stealth guide — was perm banned about 2 months ago after I made a silly mistake that led to it being IP-linked with another perm banned account

I took the loss and subsequently created two new stealth accounts using my real name and DOB, with a slight tweak to the street number in the registration address. I also changed the bank address to match the new info.

Last night, one of the one-month-old accounts made a surprise £200 sale, bringing total sales to around £900. eBay then sent an email saying payouts are on hold and asked me to update the account by uploading photo ID. There’s also a red banner on my seller page.

My question is: is this account still salvageable? I have a driver’s license that hasn’t been used before, but the address on it is the same as the one on my 9-month-old banned account. I understand you can’t upload creative IDs in teh UK, so:
• Should I just upload the license and hope they don’t cross-check the address?
• Or should I change the address on the account first to match the ID, and hope they don’t link it to the banned one?

I wouldn’t want to give them my DL number to store if it just leads to perm ban afterwards

Many thanks

If you have the stealth guide, use the code from the guide to get the VIP name here and it'll also show you have the guide

I could be wrong, but unless this is MC011 you might be just submitting it as a formality, and their AI will review it, not someone in Trust & Safety.

It's different since you're in UK. They treat things differently in Europe.

Use your passport, no address to worry about.

If no passport, change your address and upload your DL.

Even genuine DL's sometimes have issues now though.

I registered under the same email. But it’s ages ago and I no longer subscribe to it since there didn’t seem to be updates. Could I still get the cool name?

Thanks for the input! Unfortunately my passport has been submitted to a banned account before. And it’s a foreign passport so will probably trigger manual inspections. Would you recommend changing the exact address as DL or tweak again like adding #, room 1 etc to avoid linking? Many thanks

For the DL they should just check the name and DOB they wont usually cross ref the address

RE creative ID they do work (not always) but if you have a real ID that is going to be the best thing to use

I would go the DL route

So I just keep the registration address unchanged and upload DL? Many thanks

If the registered address has already been banned I would personally not change it and just upload the ID

Its not being used for proof of address just name and DOB so that is usually all they will check

I would personally use your passport again, but others suggest using your DL and chanceing the address.

You have to weigh up the odds and go with one really.

Though you could risk it with the docs you have, your best bet is getting a pro to create a legit new ID for you, with the exact details you require. Editing is really not it. Hope something works for you!
