Default filing state sales tax

Does anyone remember how we file state sales tax?
How do I find out if I have sold anything to buyer in my state?
Does Ebay /Etsy collect the sales tax for us and remit to the state?
If so,what do we say on the tax form?

eBay has handled sales tax for sellers for several years now.

But we still have to file the tax form,as they think if we have a store,we could be doing business outside Ebay or Etsy or AMZN

You can go into your sales report under financials and see the state that you sold to.

As for collecting SALES taxes, it should be covered with the new payment system. They remit everything on your behalf. 46 jurisdictions (states) are collected for. You would only need to collect or report if you are not in one of those jurisdictions. Otherwise, you must pay state taxes on your profit under your INCOME taxes.

I highly doubt you sell enough in your state to even qualify. I’ve been gone for a few years. Were you the one who always posting really weird things?

I was audited by the state auditor once (TX),not all sales are completed on EBAY,AMZN,ETSY.
There are many brick and mortar shops which also sell on these online venues, plus walkin to their brick and mortar stores.
I dont remember all the details, but the state auditor is able to look into your Paypal account and like you said ,find sales to TX buyers.
But thats not good enough,he would also see your bank account, any incoming deposits which is not your Paypal payments from online sales SSN,insurance refund, lottery winnings, wages, gifts from grandma, must be sales made in your brick and mortar store and why are you not collecting and remitting sales tax?
Well, anyway, this state auditor is new and was so overwhelmed with his job,he started making mistakes and GONE !
Well, any way,I came out clean, just so you know.
Best is to keep a separate bank account to receive online sales payment only,do not transfer the $$ to another bank account, just go to ATM and remove the cash or use it to pay your Ebay fees, vendor fees.
it is not possible for the auditor (state or IRS) to find out how many bank accounts you have, just the SSN number is not enough,as there are so many banks in this country,it is not feasible to search thousands of bank using your SSN.
But what they do is that they look at your bank statements (2 years for IRS) and find you have another bank ,then they ask to see bank statements of that bank,so on and so forth.
so it is better to open a bank account just for selling online or offline,do not transfer fund back and forth with other bank accounts you have.

Light suggestion of spacing out your text agent - this is difficult to read
