Ebay Shipping Confusion

I'm confused on the price of shipping. I understand that we as seller can pay (which means free shipping for the buyer) I understand that I can charge the buyer a flat amount. (ebay kept giving me a red banner error for domestic shipping) what about the shipping method of letting the buyers location determine it. how does that work?

I selected that option and in automatically is charging the buyer like $18.68 for shipping even though I'm sure I wil have to pay closer to $60 to ship this item

How big is the item and the carrier? This much of a difference is surprising

You do get a discount using Fed Exp on Ebay,Fed Exp ground can be cheaper than USPS

I ended up revising the listing and charging a set amount for the shipping. it's an electronic item. nice size. I have the box it came in so I'll have that boxed up

the idiot decided to cancel. i approved it. second time this week. next time I'm denying approval request... anyways the item is relisted. it will sell this week Lord Willing

if you deny cancel request,they will just file INAD and make you pay return shipping.
(Your actual shipping cost is probably too high for them )
