Default Thank You and Goodnight!

The time has arrived to go and enjoy the rest of our lives.

Want to say a special thanks to all that have help us through the last 14 years. You all helped us get back onto AZ and we managed quite well with 4 stealth accts each ranging from 10 to 14 years in length.

All 4 accts are now closed, cc and bank accts associated with are also closed. Left on each acct was minimal inventory and about $100 in each. Just like closing a brick and mortar, we left some stuff for the landlord.

AZ has just become too anal to happily work with. Original plan was to do some selling in retirement, but, the last 4 years have changed way too much.

We are greatly set up for retirement (no debt, house paid for and renovated), and an after tax income for the 2 of us at 10K per month. Could not have hit this without all the help of the genius advice given through this site.

Will stop in once in a while to say hi.

Best of luck to all remaining sellers.

PhD

Truth be told, the last 11 years were just myself and the wife working out of our home. It got crowded sometimes, and storage units work great as warehouses, but it worked well. The last 8 years, we grossed over 1M a year.

Everything is closed out. Have a big enough house for all of our crap. And the wife is not a spontaneous shopper

Thanks for the final dick swing before heading into a life of gardening, bingo, daytime TV and arthritis.

What took you so long to retire?, I hope you didn't have to work too hard for it. I have been semi retired for the last 20 years or so, wouldn't know a full day's work if it hit me in the face.

To me, it's all or nothing. So semi retirement wasn't really on the plate.

Don't want to have to answer emails, and miss my bingo number

Retirement will be streaming during crappy weather, at least 2 trips a year, and a lot of photography and hikes.

And maybe a bit of arthritis.

A holiday from what though?

If you are retired then what will you need to take a break from? Surely you'll just be changing location for a while.

I haven't taken a holiday in 20 years since I had my last day job, I just travel when I have the urge.

I have been quite envious of holidaymakers in the past though. When I turn up in a place I know I can stay there for a long time, and I can return when I feel like it. This means that I sometimes don't try and do everything and see everything, I fall into a similar routine as at home. Whereas the holidaymaker has their two weeks, they have everything planned out, where to go what to see, and they maximise their time.

You are correct. Holiday was the wrong word. Flexable adventures, like you do, is what our goal is. 2 months in Maui to start later this month, then in late June, driving down to Utah, Arizona, Montana to visit and photograph the National parks. Might even shoot up to Alberta for Jasper and Banff parks. We have decided to go and take anywhere from 4-7 weeks for this adventure.

Thanks
