Default Interesting IP Harassment

Yesterday, I had a unique message sent on one of my auction listings. An apparent lawyer for the brand. I've seen people claim to be VERO agents in a message before, but this one takes the cake. The said council sent a message that simply said "Cease & Desist (company name) USA." The profile creation was on the same day, and the message was sent at 4 am PST. They even used a photo of the lawyer as the account picture, with "name.brand" as the account username. Now, if you simply reverse-search this, it goes straight to the real council for the brand on LinkedIn. I suspect this profile to be a competitor.

What do you guys think of this? I don't think REAL Council would contact someone for a brand with this verbiage, and they would also just go through VERO.

Hehe, I'd say conpetitors are getting desperate as the economy tightens. I believe eBay has a new portal for the real vero, seems he would use that if he was legitimate...

just let them take down the item if they are real , in such a situation you should never take any action but let the other party take action. and if they are who they say they are they take down the item and you just remove the brand from your offers

do not act , do not reply , do not take action - zero reaction and zero contact is the best course of action until you get any official notice
