Default MC999 after opening a seller account

Hey folks,

Every new account I create gets hit with an MC999 restriction and very low selling limits (10/173).

In the past, I had no problem getting accounts with much higher limits, such as 5,000 / 44,500.

I’ve tried a lot of different things, but so far I haven’t been successful.

I’ve tested different proxies with very low fraud scores and used stealth browsers such as Linken Sphere, Octo Browser, and Multilogin.

It doesn’t seem to matter whether I let the account age first or list a used item immediately after creating it. The result is always the same: MC999.

What’s even stranger is that I have also tried accounts that I let age for around six months, with roughly 30–40 purchases and normal account activity. As soon as I enable selling and list an item, the account gets hit with an MC999 restriction within about five minutes.

Has anyone experienced something similar recently or have any idea what might be causing this?

My initial reaction to the situation is that the use of proxies could be causing big problems. Also, stealth browsers that conceal info...their use can be detected fairly easily by eb these days it seems.

Have you tried just using normal IP and a normal browser like Chrome or so on a new user account?

If you're able to create accounts at all that don't die within a sale or two you should consider yourself lucky.

It's a risk management thing. If you sell to your limits and the buyers don't complain, eBay raises your limits after a month or two of selling.

it is normal , new accounts are not allowed to sell any significant volumes so that 10 items per month are enough , each item should not cost more than 20 usd , this way you continue for 6-12 months and slowly increase after that

even if you get a high selling limit , as soon as you try to use it they will put you down like a mad dog

Thanks for all the replies.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

A real user PC with Firefox Portable or Google Chrome
A real IP connection via a 5G USB stick with a SIM card, as well as mobile tethering
A real Android smartphone using either the eBay app or a mobile browser
Three different laptops
Android cloud emulators such as VMOS and DuoPlus
Desktop emulators such as BlueStacks and MuMuPlayer

Regardless of the setup, I get an MC999 shortly after signing up for a seller account.

The first items I list are always low-risk, used items in the €5–20 range, but I still get the same result.

Has anyone recently managed to successfully create and use a new seller account on the German eBay site (eBay.de)?

Any recent experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Seems like eBay is taking a much harder look at new sellers lately.

I still haven't found a single stealth browser that works. I wish someone would prove me wrong because they could be massively beneficial, but they simply don't exist.

VPNs are tough. I have some very reliable, clean, "fresh" IPs that have been running strong since day one. But I have moved to "residential and fresh" with new accounts. It seems to be the least problematic.

Here is my theory on "Aging an account". If you create and barely use it, then go cold for long periods, this will flag the bot. You can only age through constant monitoring and account growth. I've noticed timing is crucial across multiple account types with algos with stealth accounts.

Browse and bid for about 2-4 weeks - maybe win, maybe not - then light selling used to work decently

I have started getting the same result on eBay UK, although I get reactive your account message instead of mc999. The problem is I used to easily get 50k monthly limits but now these are less frequent and mainly 70 items per month limits. Feels like eBay have tightened something on their end regarding F@@@ details.

It will get worse as we approach holiday selling !
You could be asked for vendor invoice and bankkk statement to prove you have those items on hand.
If you are preselling toys which are not even available ,you have to show you have placed an order and a deposit with the brand manufacturer or its distributor
