Add a credit card issue

Hi,

Recently a couple of my eBay accounts using the same bank (but different IBANs) have been blocked from withdrawing money from my balance and eBay is asking me to add a credit card to pay the selling fees.

Is it safe to use a credit card where the cardholder's name is different from the name on the eBay account?

I would really appreciate any advice.

MC/VISA,Amex,you can use it anywhere in the world ,where it is issued is not an issue,however there is a MC issued in Africa which is not the same as rest of the world,cant recall all the details.
Remember the commercial-Dont leave home without it !
However,during the Kuwait invasion by IRAQ,Kuwaitee who fled the country and end up in neigboring countries cannot use their cards issued by Kuwai banks !

I’m from Slovakia and until recently everything worked with just a connected bank account, without a card. I always kept around €100 in my eBay balance to cover selling fees. However eBay has suddenly blocked payouts on most of my accounts and is now requiring me to add a cards. Do i need german cards if ebay account are germans ?

Short end of things, yes the country and address match is important - very rarely, eb may allow credit card from a different country to be attached. I have seen this possible on my USA and Canadian eb accounts where credit cards in the other country were being accepted but this was back in 2015 or so...personally, I'd aim for using same country-based cc's

Entering a card nowhere close to the registration address is likely to cause problems, IMO.


Maintaining a balance isn't enough anymore - they want a backup payment method.

Did you check the account service section? makavi94 has been on a service provider for ages and has decent cc's if you ask.

Rosanna is also decent but vccs mainly for USA - can't hurt to ask her directly as well.

Yes i already tried makavi94. Paid 45usd for VCC but ebay didnt accept that card and makavi doesnt reply to my messages now.

you need a card with the billing address in germany , they do not check billing addresses in the EU though but may verify the country of issuance

you try a local slovenian card first and see if it works

You need a card issued in the your eBay account's country.

If your ebay account has a UK registered address, you need a card that has a UK billing address.

And when adding the card to the eBay account - you will see the billing address fields appear, just make sure you edit the zip code field there to match the zip code on your card's billing address. Don't edit any of the other address fields. ONLY THE ZIP CODE.

That's all there is to it.
