hi
ive used entro twice to pay ebay fees. both time its gone through, then a few weeks later the transaction has been reversed.
whats the best card to use?
also, do you have the card on file and it gets debited each month, do you make one time payments with it, or do you fund paypal with it and pay that way?
thanks

Eeek! This is the last thing I want! I've been wondering this a lot too, what is the safe way for UK SELLERS to pay ebay fees, as the big thread on this "how to pay seller fees safely" seems more geared to the US, referencing walmart cards, etc. In stealth mode, I understand from the forums it's a bad idea to pay your ebay seller fees with your paypal account linked to that ebay account (like other members I still cannot fathom why, but hey-ho!) so what other options are there? I recall there being "make a one time paypal payment" but this would obviously go from your PP account so as stated above this is a no, setting it up to be paid automatically every month from PP is therefore also a no, so I'm not sure what's left.... postal orders?
Yes exactly I'd like to avoid entropay as not only have I read about people's problems here, but totally unrelated to these forums I know other people who've had bad experiences with them. re: just paying them via paypal, exactly- this is what I'd automatically do- as like I wrote above I and many members (yourself included in that thread lol!) can't fathom why this is a problem, but it appears to be: http://www.aspkin.com/forums/uk-ebay...ller-fees.html
....so what other methods are left?!
heh GrannyT to the rescue again- you were posting exactly same time as me so forgive the response above as we were both matching each other for typing speed! Yay fab to hear cashier's cheque and postal orders fine, never done the former so will stick with the latter, can't forsee any probs, though I do recall they now ask for ID when you buy postal orders, or am I confusing buying them with cashing them in?! Haven't done either for a while!
Lucky you.... maybe it's this big, dirty, huge, ovrerpopulated particular city in the UK I live in then.... extra measures for cracking down on fraud and the like. Every time I've dealt with postal orders over the past year- probably about five times- I have been asked for ID, and they've written down the card number and name on the card. I can't remember if this was when buying or cashing them in, but come to think of it actually it must be the latter as I rarely send them myself.
Indeed! I'm just thinking now that actually that ID check would raise issues for me- was stupidly thinking it's fine as would be stealth details they'd be noting on the postal order, but of course it's not- it's the real details on the bank card- doh! So problems with that method for me as would have my (real) name written on the PO. That said, I do think this ID check is when cashing them in, so am hoping buying them is fine... have heard of but never done cashier's cheque before so forgive the stupid question- how do they work?
brilliant.
this reminds me of a thread i just viewed a few mins ago where someone from oz used the phrase "screw it up" in his reply, and the poster below from usa didn't understand what was being said, until the oz member clarified what the phrase "screw it up" meant!

You just go to your bank and ask for a cashiers cheque. They will ask who you want it made payable to and then hand it over. There is nothing on it to tie you in. Same when buying Postal Orders. It really isn't a problem. I pay 2 small stealth accounts that just grind along with Postal Orders every month.

Yes, I'm hoping the PO will be fine to purchase, cashier's cheque though hmmm, surely when they cash it, there's a risk they see the name on the bank account it's cashed from- the name of the person who's bought it to send to them (i.e. a different name to what's on the stealth EB/PP account, they'll see the very same name that's associated with another suspended account) or is this back to the "they only see routing number and sort code" answer?
There is nothing on it to show it is from you. It's a Lloyds Bank (or whatever) cashiers cheque. They take the money from your account as soon as it's written. You are putting problems in place where there are none - it's simple, quick, clean and foolproof.
Brill, thanks, have never had any experience of cashier cheques before so no idea how they worked. As for the "10 miles past the back of beyond", gave me a right good giggle!
