Default Question about new ebay account

Hi

Not sure if anyone can help...had an Ebay account for approx 3 years, and had good feedback, but listed an item that Ebay deemed counterfit on it, and they blocked my account totally.

I then re-opened another account (via my parents address and landline), been selling (legitimate things) on there for approx 6 months and it's been fine. However, my brother also has an account at the same address and landline, and he has his account blocked for unpaid item strikes. It's now wiped mine out too.

I tried to reigister a new account last night, got a friend to use their landline, and it was fine, it all went through. I lsited my item, and then about 20 minutes later, I got an email saying that my account was now limited and that they wanted to speak to me to verify more information??!!!

Does anyone know what information they may require, and if anyone else had this problem?

Do you think I'll be able to list if I can answer their questions???

Thanks very much!!!!
xx

First, welcome.

Secondly, don't use that HELP HELP etc nonsense - it seems too demanding =)

Thirdly, ok the new account they want to speak with you so call them up - answer no or whatever to their questions - you should be fine. I hope you used new IP address to avoid the link because if you did not...start preparing new account.

Get the stealth guide here to understand how this ebay/paypal mess works or troll around the forums - you will find answers to unasked questions too =)

All the best.

Also if you used the same laptop, hope you used a new user window, or you cleared all your flash objects and cookies.
You will have to make an online appointment for when they call you. I never did get the call, so they asked me to send in details. Which I did, and they re-instated my account.

Ahh, thanks for your reply. Sorry about the Help, Help, Help part - I'm new!!!

Ooops - it is the same IP address, so I guess I'd better start preparing my new account now then??!!

So let me get this right (and apologies now for my ignorance), if I go to a completely different PC, create a new Ebay account, new Ebay landline and new Paypal account, I should be fine? Can I still use my same name, or should I use another one too?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, using the same name is recommended for various reasons. But change it up a little bit. Use a variance of you first name and maybe add a middle initial. I have often used a slightly misspelled last name in some situations.

But if you really want to do it right on your next account, get the Stealth Book.
