Default Bank account alts?

I was reading information about the greendot card that could be used as a bank account.

Are there any other ways of opening make believe bank accounts to use with paypal? Like with a gift card or something?

Reason I ask this is because I don't want to have 15 bank accounts and the bank tellers looking at me funny. lol

I wouldnt use greendot isnt good to be used as a bank account. Normally, paypal doesn't like that bank. There are different ways of getting banks. You can have more than one bank - so then why would the bank tellers would be looking funny at you?

I went to the bank to withdraw some money and the teller looked at me and said "Are you sure you need all these accounts???" And she had a weird look on her face lol

As I live in a small island, what I do is, visit every branch and withdraw money from there or open new accoutns from each branch I visit, and I always tell "Pa yp al Raped me and holds my money for no reasoN!"

Advantage of a small island :P Atleast I will no bankers lookign strange to me :P heh

LOL I would have simply replied "yes. I do" then gave her a smile . Though how many accounts do you have at one bank?

I know when I talked to one bank branch here, i simply stated that i needed several accounts as it is easier for me to divide my money into the several accounts for different purposes, that way I dont make any simple mistakes, blah, blah, overdraft, etc.

That covered all basis for them. They even gave me tips on how to route things. ha ha

There is no set limit - you just have to keep proper business with the bank. Some banks look a bit weird if you have greater than 5 accounts with them - all depends on your business.

You can try Rushcard, Walmart Money Card, AccountNow, MoneyGram, Bank Freedom, Upside, etc.

Any prepaid debit card has its own free bank with routing and account numbers. You can order them online too.

There seems to be great deal of conflicting information on this site about this issue. 50% say you can use these cards and their routing information and 50 % say that PAYPAL will absolutely not allow funds to be withdrawn into these accounts ! Could someone state with any real authority what the real story is? I cannot be the only person on this site who is confused as hell by this!!!!

Greendot works on paypal. Paypal has even allowed u to load your account with greendot money packs so they would expect alot of people to use there greendot cards as banks on paypal.

This is what i received today after trying to withdraw 250 into a walmart moneycard acct. It's been working for awhile. Got like 1k out then got this email

Dear **edit **

As a security measure for PayPal customers, we randomly verify account
information. During a recent review of your account it was determined
that the bank account you have listed is actually a prepaid or stored
value credit card. Stored value or prepaid credit cards can only be used
through PayPal as a credit card and cannot be added to PayPal as a bank
account. Therefore the card that you added as a bank account has been
removed.

If you would like to add a bank account to your PayPal account, please
follow the steps below:
**1. Go to the PayPal website and log in to your account.
**2. Click "Profile" at the top of the page.
**3. Click the "Bank Accounts" link in the "Financial Information"
column.
**4. If you already have a bank account added, click "Add."
**5. Under the "Add Bank Account" heading, enter the bank account
information
*********o Select whether it is a checking or savings account
*********o Enter routing number. Please note that a savings account
routing number may be different than the checking account routing
number. You may wish to verify the routing number with your banks
customer service department
*********o Enter and retype the full account number - if there are any
zeroes in front of the account number, it is important to include them.
**6. Click "Add Bank Account."
After your bank account has been added, PayPal will send two random
deposits between $0.01 and $0.99 to your bank account. These deposits
will be at PayPal's expense and will arrive in your bank account within
3 to 5 business days. To confirm your bank account, you must find out
the amounts of these two deposits, by calling your bank's customer
service or checking your bank statement.

To confirm your bank account, follow these steps:
**1. Go to the PayPal website and log in to your account.
**2. Click "Profile" at the top of the page.
**3. Click the "Bank Accounts" link in the "Financial Information"
column.
**4. Click "Confirm."
**5. Choose the bank account you wish to confirm and click the
"Confirm" button.
**6. Enter the two amounts.
**7. Click "Submit". If the amounts are correct, your bank account will
be confirmed.

Sincerely,

PayPal Account Review Department

Do NOT use prepaid bank accounts, they are no good!

Thank you for posting that dhunter, you are about the 4th person in the last month that has had the same thing happen to them.

I've said it over and over, do NOT use a prepaid bank account, they do NOT work and people still keep wanting to use them!

Greenbean is a she! PM her and she will take care of it for you.

The edit option goes away after a certain amount of time, so you probably won't see it.
