Arrow Withdrawing to a UK Bank Account from Paypal - Do bank details have to match ?

It says on paypal, that the name on your bank account must match the name thats on paypal when you add the bank or your withdraw will fail?

Is this true?

Or do none of the details on paypal have to match the details on the bank account, except for sort code, and account number ?

Does the above apply to all banks? Or will some banks tell paypal the name etc?
What banks does everyone use?

Obviously the account number and sort code have to match otherwise the funds transfer would'nt go throught .
However the name does NOT have to much , otherwise people would'nt becreating paypal accounts in stealth details.
The bank does not see the stealth name on your paypal account , this would be an invasion of privacy .
I have withdrawn money into my bank account many times under an alias name from stealth account details and it has allways worked .

Yep, crazed is correct. BUT there are banks in the UK that are known to share info with paypal & it is best not to use them. Lloyds TCS is one such bank.

Be very aware of using alias names on your paypal accounts to withdraw money to your bank accounts, I got called into the bank last year with the threat of closing my account, the reason, they can see all the different alias names that the money goes into the bank on, the bank manager even showed me the details, which according to him they see "before" the money is transfered, so in theory if you piss them off with too many alias' the bank can refuse the transaction and the money will get kicked back to paypal, as we know this is never a good thing!

How many transactions did you do? Yes bank manager can always check but your account must have been flagged for manual review.

I did about 5 or 6 transactions before I got the phone call to go see the bank manager, he basically said we cant have money coming into your account under different names as it could be perceived as fraud, there is no problem now as I found a nice little loophole within paypal

The loophole goes round with a circle in the middle.

Best bet is to turn PayPal account into your bank account and use with PayPal Credit Card.

YES!

Just dug this post up as I also need to add an account with different name, has anybody done this recently? PP are telling me this cannot be done, this is copied from the site -

Quote:
Please make sure that the name associated with your PayPal account exactly matches the name on your bank account statement. Otherwise, transfers to and from your PayPal account will not go through, and a return fee will be charged.

Personal and Premier account holders
Contact Customer Service if you need to change the name we have on file for you. Click Help on any PayPal page and select Contact Us. You may make this change for reasons such as a legal name change, a spelling mistake, or to add a secondary last name. For security reasons, you will need to provide supporting information. It’s not possible to put your bank account in another person’s name.
How else can I get my money out of paypal? Especially where a stealth account is concerned which is not in my name

Halifax and Natwest are fine for stealthing - names dont need to match.

HSBC was okay for me but is not reccommended by some people.

I would not advising using Lloyds for reasons previously discussed in the thread by GB.

Ok thanks for that. So the script I copied from paypal is not true? Or when I enter the bank account details I use the stealth name instead of the bank account name?
