Default BEWARE!!! Competitors are actively sabotaging my ebay accts

Hi,

There is an ebay member with 1 feedback and just over a month as a registered member and is not selling anything. This member has never bought anything from me. What this member is doing is contacting my customers before they even receive the item. He claims to be a "consultant" but does not disclose his company or who he is working for. His emails my customers and goes on to say they have been victimized as the item they purchased is not as described.

Many customers are contacting me and for those I can reassure them and point to my 100% positive feedback and explain this is likely the work of someone who is selling the same product. However, many customers freak and go straight to filing a claim. This will soon lead to suspension / limitation.

Is this happening to anyone else? Is this against any ebay policy? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Wow that is crazy... I was reading something about this on the ebay forums.. Never happen to me yet (beat on wood) but this stuff does happen.

My competitors usual "buy" my item and not pay for it because they know my selling limit.

I would report him to ebay. Edit: Also you can just hide your buyers.. so only you can see who bid on your items

I don't see how anyone could possibly get the email addresses of your customers anymore. In the old days you could see who was buying, but not anymore. Strange situation.

Two ways to contact another member within ebay. Go to feedback and click on the customer who left feedback. The other is to do the same using a completed item search.

You'll have to send a email to eBay's Safe and Trust Harbor instead. This has happened to me before, and the guy who was doing so got shortly suspended, along with all of his alt accounts.

There is no way he is emailing your customers. He is contacting them through eBay's message system. This means the contact records are all there for eBay Trust & Safety to see. It should be a very simple matter to get eBay Trust & Safety to knock him out. Be sure to let them know that he is probably a competitor and that they should look for linked accounts. Most likely he wasn't very careful in creating this new stalker account.

The tricky thing is what happens when his business gets shut down and now he's REALLY angry at you. That's a dicey situation. There is no easy solution to dealing with psychotic blankety blankholes. That's what Bin Laden figured out long ago.

Thanks for the responses and a clarification. It is through the ebay messaging system not private emails. I am not so concerned about this idiot's reaction ....his accts getting shut down for trying to sabotage mine = karma. What I am concerned about is ebay reviewing my account in the process. This is a stealth acct.

@rps4usc, try not to worry about that.

If you are running your account OK, if all is going well, then you just have an ebay account by coincidence is stealth. It's still an ebay account, just 'special'. It's better to try to develop that mind set.

Karma will find this dufus.

Isn't there a limit in the messaging system? Unless you have done business with that person, I know I was always limited on how many people I could send e-mails to per day.

My advise to you guys is if u have these people contacting your buyers and causeing problems then report them to ebay! but tell ebay that there offiering sales out side of ebay this is all u need ebay will stop them quickly for that :D rps4usc took my advice and it worked like a charm

Now if u was to just tell ebay that there just contacting them for any other reason then ebay wouldnt give to hoots but since you tell them there offering sales outside of ebay that means no fees for ebay and they will be all over that like flys to crap
