Default Do you think this will cause scrutiny?

I'm about to get a stealth selling account up and running, and I fully anticipate a limit on it. No biggie, since the things I'm selling are all gravy cash that I do need but not immediately.

If I list 10 items for auction at 99 cent starting bids with no reserve and then they do end up selling for $75-250 each...will I get "noticed" by the big bad wolf? I didn't ask for that amount right up front with a BiN...nature just took its course.

BTW, these are vintage toys that are going up...no jewelry or computer items.

Peace,

Chip

^ I would always play safe and therefore say that this kind of activity on a new account is a certain for attention from eBay/PayPal.

Spread sales out over the month(s) or over multiple accounts. Though your item may or may not make this kind of activity a lot more possible. Still. Take things slow.

That's not *quite* feasible. LOL. I do agree that it makes the most sense.

Suppose I have a 10 item, $500 limit and I list 10 items and they sell for $1,500. I would still have to wait the 30 days if I listed 3 items and they sold for $500. I'd rather have the other $1,000 now...it would make the 30 days easier.

Note that I haven't purchased the book yet. I purchased a seller account and if for some reason that becomes unusable then I'll jump on board. I'm just not sure how much selling I'll do since I can't blitz it and sell everything I have to (less than 100 items) and make the cash I need quickly off of the one account anyway.

Thanks for your opinions, all. Here's the type of stuff I'm selling :

Prices are rising and I've got enough extra stuff where I need to strike now to maximize paying off other big deals I have going.

Peace,

Chip

Oh, and one other question...will eBay link the accounts I have if my 5-month old buyer account with 30 feedback (100%) is on one user account and my new stealth seller account is on another user account with no messing around with IP switching?

Peace,

Chip

Hrm...then I have to figure out how to do that. I don't suppose there's an automatic way to do it?

I know, I know...BUY THE BOOK.

Peace,

Chip

Okay, I think I've figured it out.

I went to What Is My IP Address? Lookup IP, Hide IP, Change IP, Trace IP and more... and it gave me the address and said that it was a Dynamic IP. So, in theory, that would mean I could check out my buyer account from my main user account and then when I want to work with the stealth seller account all I would have to do is restart the computer, log in to the user account just for selling, make sure the IP is different (and log it) and then I'm good to go? (Well, good as far as that.)

This is fun!

Peace,

Chip

No Chip - No. Restarting your computer will NOT do it. Restart your router!!

Okay, thank you. So in that case I wouldn't have to power down the computer at all...just log off the buyer user account, restart the router and then log in to the seller user account. The site I was on made it seem like all I had to do was restart my computer. I must have read it incorrectly.

Peace,

Chip

You've got it - remember to keep a log of your IPs used

Use IP Burger to check your IP has changed and as GT states keep a log of your IP's.

Im presuming you have a dynamic IP?

Yes, I have a dynamic IP. I'm using "what is my ip address dot com" to check.

The only thing that didn't work is when I restarted the router it came up the same IP after reloading that site. When I restarted my modem, it then did change.

I don't care what I have to restart as long as it changes. Hell, I'll restart my refrigerator if I have to.

Thanks to all for your help.

Peace,

Chip

Yup, will do. I don't even have the seller account yet and I've already started logging. LOL.
