Default 12 month linked account suspensions

I got a couple of my accounts taken down last year for being linked. usual story 'go away for 12 months'

I'm wondering what happens at the end of the 12 months? does anybody have any experience of a come back after that time? I mean, do they really have any intention of letting you back on after the 12 months?

I'm not that bothered if they don't let me back on as I've worked out how to sidestep the whole thing through this site but would be interested to know

actually I'm more keen to wipe the slate clean with ebay, so that I dont have to do any more cloak and dagger stuff with them or my buyers.

since I was suspended for account linkage, I've set up multiple new accounts under false names. when any of these get suspended I have to just walk away from them rather than appeal as I don't have the ID to back up an appeal.

none of these accounts have been linked back to the originally suspended one so are really 'stand alone' suspensions

I don't have all that long to go before I can appeal the 12 month suspension. would like to hear that there are people out there who have successfully gotten back on after 12 months. ...or maybe there ain't any?

I'm not sure there are many people seeking their old accounts. It would be nice for me to get mine back. But who cares when I can create a new one at anytime. I've heard of only a few people that actually got their account back after the year, but this is rare.

I would think it depends on how serious the offence was. If you stung someone for money then probably not. Only you know how serious it was. For spamming you might have a chance. I contacted the VERO member and said I was sorry and didnt think it was a copyright breach but a spam matter. I offered not to relist if they contacted Ebay and I was reinstated after 2 or 3 weeks (there is a technical delay). You have to realise that goodwill is just as important as copyright to these companies. Without either they cannot maintain their business. They appreciate that consumers are becoming antagonistic to brand names which have unethical policies and people will turn their back on certain brands. They know by being too hard faced they can lose a lot of goodwill especially when a lot of small time innocent ebayers get caught in their net. If they keep doing this they know over time people will become alienated from major brands.
So if its a matter of simple spamming, just throw yourself at the mercy of the VERO member and eat humble pie. The VERO member and Ebay will favour an agreement. They know that a suspension is counter productive. An agreement means they can monitor you and you have an incentive not to repeat the offence, but a suspension will only drive you underground where they cant monitor you and you have no incentive to change. But you must be tactfull and not angry, aggressive or threatening. Be nice and treat them as you would like to be treated. So it is in their interests to have an agreement provided the offence wasnt fraudulent. But if you then repeat the offence then........

How does spamming and being vero coincide? How can you spam on ebay? I'm a little confused here

it's a really long story but basically one account fell into arrears, I didn't pay it, got suspended but blindly continued trading on another ID. (I was a greenhorn then, I never knew any of the stuff aspkin's brought to my attention via this site).

literally 4 months after the 1st suspension the accounts got linked.

the funny thing is, I was running the two accounts off the same computer, same IP, same credit card used to set it up, my own domain.com email address with myebay1 and myebay2 type email addresses, same passwords, same name and address, same listings... absolutely everything the same.

still took 4 months to link the accounts (!)

Spamming or VERO? Exactly that was my arguement with the rights owner!! I put in the listing title that the product was "brand X type or like or in style of brand x". Ebay said this was keyword spamming and said I could only put this in the description. After 5 months of having listings pulled for keyword spamming the VERO member started to complain about breach of copyright and I was indefinitely suspended for VERO abuse. I said to rights owner Ebay had led me wrongly to believe it was just a spamming issue rather than copyright. After all Ebay rules allow one reference to "brand X" in the description (but not the title). I said Ebays comms were very poor and if I agreed not to relist would they say something to Ebay about reinstatement and they did.

Now heres the thing that drives me nuts. When I was keyword spamming Ebay told me this was unfair to sellers of genuine brand x products because their items were being crowded out by spam. But I know from my knowledge of the trade that everyone of the "genuine" products (incidentally from China) are ⊗⊗⊗⊗. My crime was to divert people away from buying ⊗⊗⊗⊗ products!! So Ebay was protecting the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ sellers against "unfair competition" of the spammers many of whome list their items honestly and dont try to fool the public. People are looking for cheap generic type products similar to the branded fashion merchandise and as long as you make it clear thats what you are selling that should be fine. The only logic I can see is that Ebay earns more from the higher priced ⊗⊗⊗⊗ than the cheap generic types so it hits the spammers that hurt the higher priced end. Or maybe they offer the spammers to the rights owner as a sacrificial lamb because they dont lose so much in FV fees from them. But maybe there is no logic; maybe they are just a bunch of dopes at ebay. They seem to believe in the policy laid down from on high.

Jamesy, have you offered to pay your arrears? Surely you can come up with a clever answer for not paying. You forgot your password and did not log in either to myebay or the email address. Or you had a problem with the bank so you could not pay on that account. Or as you were being allowed to trade on one account you thought the other account was no longer a problem and the money had been paid. Or it had been paid but the suspension still had to run. Or as you never bothered to log in you never knew it was still outstanding. I cant see Ebay continuing to suspend you once youve paid. They see you were paying ok for 4 months. Unless theres more to it but you should be able to come up with an explanation

I already cleared the arrears on the 1st account. the problem was due to the payment being lost and me sending another one to cover the first item.

I asked them to reinstate me but was turned down on that. their attitude was that I shouldn't have traded while suspended and that's why I got a 12 month ban.

the fools were getting 1-1.5k a month in fees from me before, now I just leave them outstanding

You paid off the first account and they still kept you suspended? I hope you get that money back somehow.

Get used to it MEOW or leave the forums. I'm tired of people telling me what I can and can not do to these forums. EBay already knows of this website. Anything we say here is read by eBay. Do they care? Who knows? Do they change the way their system is because of this forum? I doubt it. Would you rather I Lock the forums so only you can view them? This is a community of eBay users. In order to get the word out about eBay suspensions and to help other people the forum must be public. Having ads of any kind are what help support the forum.

Geez I'm getting tired of this.

Did seem a little suspicious at first, but I highly doubt that ebay would need to entrap anyone at a site like this since much of the complaining here (my self included) is because of ebay's arbitrary and unsupported suspensions.

Actually I now think that it is ironically funny that in some way ebay helps to pay to keep a site up that tells how to defeat them

I was a bit suspecious about talk on this forum, about inviting any ebay employees onto this site to give advise on how to get back on! I thought to myself how odd! But after seeing the sponser for this site it now is clear that everyone that post info to help is going to be screwed in the end!

Am I the only one that has seen this advertisment for ebay pop up here in the forum? It say's shop with our sponsers! EBAY!!!! Gosh ASPKIN let me know this is not true! If it is true you must be making some big bucks from Ebay! My apologies if I am wrong... But I know what I saw!

I was wondering the same thing.
