Default The **NEW ** O2 Dongle (Huawei e173)

So i have the 3 Dongle which works great up until now..
Damn thing wont connect when i need it most.

I saw that o2 have new dongles out which are apparently better and faster than the normal 3g dongles. Its the Huawei e173.. It also gives you access to wifi hotspots.

I checked the signal strength by by house and it said it was better than what 3 was offering me.

Has anyone used one of these? Am i better off sticking with the 3 network?
and most importantly, Does the IP address change everytime you reconnect??

I have this dongle.

It is pretty robust & does the job it is supposed to. I have good signal strength & have never been let down by it.

Yes, the IP addresses are dynamic - they change moreorless every time you connect & reconnect but it still is the case you have to log the IP addresses for any future cross links.

Signal strength depends on your location & but the 02 network does have very good coverage nationwide.

It would be very hard to cross compare against other makes as I have never used them.

I never cross compare ip addresses. This must become impossible because of the size of the ip list fries too.

As Suve said it's a very good dongle.

Works in 98% of the UK for my partner in terms of signal etc.

IP range is dynamic Not been told of any duplication of IPs yet.

The Huawei range also includes the now obsolete E1750 & the replaced with E367 series dongles.

The real selling point of the NEW range E367 series dongles, is that this dongle feature HSPA+ technology, housing multiple antennae & advanced modulation to deliver mobile internet speeds of up to 21.1Mb.
