Default MAC - Dongle

Is there any way to change the MAC for an internet dongle?, or for multiple Amazon accounts is it necessary to havve multiple dongles if you want to connect that way?

Apparently there is something called Open VPN that can generate random Macs for dongles.

Honestly, I don't think there is a MAC address for dongles. MAC addresses are just for ethernet, wireless cards, and routers.

When I do ipconfig/all at my windows command prompt it shows the MAC address (PHYSICAL ADDRESS) field as blank for my Dongle but shows the MAC address for my other hardware devices.

Check out this link for more information on how to find your MAC address:

That's not possible. All network devices have a MAC address.

Unless it can be changed with special software. Because mobile devices are so highly regulated by the carriers, I assume some will allow the MAC to be changed and some won't.

It's not a matter of if they can't it's just...CAN YOU DO IT AT THIS POINT? Every machine can be changed, there just may not be an interface to do it yet.

It is possible.

I don't know. I don't use a dongle so I can't test this. Also, Windows 7, which I now use, makes it more difficult to manually access this info. I'll run the mac spoofer on my tethered connection and see if my blackberry even turns up.

When I tethered my blackberry curve via bluetooth in Windows 7 pro, I see a MAC address assigned to the bluetooth connection in Technitium, but I do not directly see a MAC address assigned to the phone hardware anywhere I can find. So that's all I know right now.

When you said dongle I may have been confusing tethering a phone with using a wireless internet USB service like CLEAR.

I use a CLEAR USB Wireless Internet dongle and it never shows a MAC Address. Tethering may be different but I know my CLEAR USB Wireless Internet dongle does not have a MAC address.

Well after many days reading the Amazon Ghost i am getting near to completion of a real Amazon Ghost account.
eBay Stealth was easy, Amazon is on a different level. But once you know what you doing then it is easy.

I have bought some network adapters, i can spoof it too but i would try that later once i get use to this.
If i connect a mobile dongle, would the mac address become fix? Would i need to remove the software it i want multiple accounts.
I have broadband that does not changes IP, so that's why i need to work with dongles.

Also if i want browse around with my home network, would that be a effect on my amazon accounts
I know user accounts keep flas cookies etc seperate, so i would keep one user account for my home network

Every network device has a MAC address, period. If you can't see it, software is hiding it because it's probably not changeable.

All I know is I bought sprints mifi device and my life has been changed forever. Boots super fast and everytime it changes the ip...I don't know about the MAC address but I have surfed and sold a lot using it on 15 plus accounts and not one hiccup...plus is fast. I remember having 3 screens up...2 with dial up and 1 with high speed.....no more.

I have the same question.
I have a clear USB 3G/4G adapter.
Each time you connect using 3G you get a new IP
The 4G seems to not change.
Can the MAC be spoofed on the 3G connection?
Does amazon see the MAC address from the device or from what the OS is reporting?

Ok. It looks like the 3G is using a generic 00-53-45-00-00-00 MAC address.
The physical address on the adapter is different and when you check in the ipconfig /all it says that the media state is disconnected.
Is this 00-53-45-00-00-00 address what amazon will see? I read on the net that this is assigned to dial up adapters by windows.
Can this trigger a freeze or suspension on a new account or even an old account?

Thanks for any help

I have exactly the same question about this.
Just like 'Iboogie'?

I set a new network adapter which has a mac Address.
When i put in my 3g dongle it comes with no mac address when i check in "getmac", or it comes with is the network adapter mac address and the rest disable.

Is this good or bad?

I have a three dongle, it gives me normally max of three IP addresses, two in one city in England, and one in Scotland.

Not sure eternity, maybe good?, I will do the same test
