Return Shipping Address (possible outcomes)

Iv done some reading here, I see some people say to either email the buyer with a return address, or put the return address on your package. In any case never register you real address on ebay (as the return address, duh)


In the case of the first situation, emailing the buyer your return address

What would be (if any) dangers of doing this?

Second situation putting your address on the package

What would be (if any) dangers of doing this?

I only see one problem with the (return address on package) Situation number 2, that is, what if the buyer wants to confirm that address to you, and confirms it to you via the ebay message system?

In my case, I would not want any return packages to be sent to my stealth address, this is due to the risk of theft with that address.

I would very much Appreciate if anyone has any other good ideas when it comes to this issue.

It's all about how you deal with returns in the first instance and the quality of your communication.

Make sure your Returns Policy is clearly defined and explicit and the same applies to any method you choose to convey the return address.

Both options work 99.99% of the time but be prepared for that awkward a**h*le.

Have a damage limitation strategy in place e.g. refund without item being returned if the need arises.

there have been a handfull of times I have told the buyer to keep the item, im not going to risk my account on an item thats worth 3 quid maybe once a month. You bring up a good point in that.
