Default Have you ever received no 21 day hold on a new unvefiried PP account?

Million dollar question to you boys and girls: Have you ever had no 21 day hold on new and unverified PP account when you sold high risk item on Ebay? It happened to me twice this week when I get instant payment but in description it said this is for ebay item:XXXXXXX buyer is eligible for buyers protection. PP email looks very similar to standard email which you get when you receive a payment but those emails with instant payment had slightly different format and looked like older type of email.

I was disabling my Ebay account checkout system and sending bueyrs invoices with a slight discount if they pay by invoice. It's great if they do coz you have instant money. I would say 50% do pay invoices, others don't. For those who don't I was enabling Ebay checkout back and from some I received instant payments. They paid thro Ebay checkout and I could see checkout being used. I wonder if I am in the middle of discovering something big(bug in Ebay or PP) or this is just a random normal thing?

I thought I will add picture of what email looked like:

Also when I received email about instant payment it wasn't from services@paypal.co.uk But it came from buyers email address with item number alongside. Something like this:

From: Buyer123@hotmail.com - made up email

Email title: Item no.111111111111 - Notification of an Instant Payment Received from Buyer123 (Buyer123@hotmail.com)

Anyone experienced something like this? I am trying now to replicate all actions I did before receiving this email. I didn't pay too much attention to what and when I clicked certain buttons but I pretty much remember sequence I did. I happened twice so obviously can be replicated if that's the case of certain clicks in certain sequence..

Question was: Is this a coincidence I received an instant payment with no 21 day hold on a 1 week old unverified paypal account for high risk item(vero) sold on Ebay twice? Ebay account is also 1 week old.

Before I started manipulating Ebay and PP for every item I sold I was getting standard type of email saying money will be on hold for 21 day. Now when I started experimenting with disabling Ebay checkout system this instant payment happened twice.
I wonder if there are some sort of sequence of actions I did which triggered this on PP and I received those instant payments with no 21 day hold? Paypal works like it should when used normal way but when you experiment sometimes bugs come out. For instance over a year ago you could easily remove you 21 day hold by issuing a small refund(like 1p) from amount paid and your 21 day hold was gone. But paypal fixed it.
No matter how clever PP is there always be bugs you can discover. It's like NASA spent millions in making a pen which can write in space because of zero gravitation. Russians used a pencil

I know that sounds silly for many members but the question is, you said you got hit with the 21 days from other ebay account, did you use the phone number for both of your ebay accounts from the same company?

There are no silly questions, there are only silly answers..
21 day hold is on all my new unverified accounts. I sold 6 items on this account mentioned. First item 21 day hold, second item instant, third invoice paid so no hold, fourth 21 day hold, fifth instant and sixth 21 day hold. I used phone numbers from the same company. In uk you just walk into any corner shop and buy sim card for 99p. I found this very cheap..

Thank you for your answer, I asked because from my experience I am sure 100% that ebay who request the 21 days hold on your account,. when I changed the phone company I started not to get 21 days hold, ALSO " when I changed my VCC that i verify Ebay with and choose to pay the fee with VCC" I stopped getting 21 days hold.

That was MY case, I am trying to know if it will apply to your case too?!! that might help other members too

I think you are right about Ebays request to PP to hold money. I find it very strange that something like phone number can impact on 21 day hold.

Verifying Ebay makes sense, maybe Ebay gets a bit more trust when paying fees by VCC. But my case in not what you mentioned. I opened 10 new accounts last month, none verified.

All were selling same items and when I started experimenting with Ebay checkout system and invoices I got those instant payments.

One thing strange is normally you get email from paypal, like services@paypal.co.uk. Instant payment emails came from persons email. Like: buyer123@hotmail.com with information from paypal. If you look at my 2nd post it describes it better.

I have verified ebay and paypal accounts, bank deposits through, ID verified, the works...

Still get 21 days hold on my accounts.

I have also VCC for fees and this has made no difference, still getting the 21 day hold.

Even tried disabling the checkout and when buyers paid me the funds for the items directly, paypal were linking the transaction through ebay and holding the money.

Yours could be a lucky set of accounts!
