Default think im a bad seller?

Hey I guys and gals I sold and item on Feb 18, 2013 and buyer still hasn't paid. I just opened a case today. should I not have done that? I mean I feel like I gave them enough time and friendly reminders I just don't want to come off as a snitch or rude seller but the buyer won't pay or respond to messages or emails. please respond and thanks in advance

Nothing wrong there, they bid..won...they need to pay. Open case is valid and should be filed when these people don't pay...BOOOYAH!

If they don't answer me at all, I file strictly after 5 days... and relist / second chance offer... You gave him plenty of time...

My settings automatically open cases after 4 days.

I have way too many accounts and too many items to keep track of and there's no way I can bother to remind people.

If they want the item, they can have it, if not, the case opens. My responsibility is to ship the item, their responsibility is to pay timely.

There's nothing wrong with what you did.

If no contact or no payment, I file as soon as possible...4 days after auction ends, to the minute. If they contact me ahead of time and say they will pay on such and such day, I thank them for letting me know and dont open a NPB case...UNLESS that day has passed and they havent paid.

Ask yourself this?

Are you running a charity account or a money making account?

The reasonable reply should be a money making account.

Therefore act accordingly.

Dont be soft

I have the same set up, all my accounts automatically open and close cases. I dont have time to follow up on non paying morons on ebay. I have to worry about the moron at eBay already, two full plates of morons can make anyone crazy.

I also automatically open and close. If the buyer reaches out I will usually allow a cancel transaction so that though don't get dinged but otherwise I let eBay take care of it...

10-11 days and he or she hasnt paid - I give usually 7 days unless a) buyer is a repeat customer or b) he or she MESSAGES me with a valid reason.

You did fine
